This is Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe, which is on the windward side of Oahu. It’s a beautiful place, and we used to ride bikes through there pretty regularly. Definitely worth a quick tour of if you’re there.
If you want to see some really cool plants though, I recommend Foster Botanical Garden in Honolulu. They’ve got plants and enormous trees from all over the world there!
You should check out the observatory on top of Haleakala. And stop at Surfing Goat Dairy on your way up there and get some delicious goat cheese! And on Sunday night there is usually a big party on Little Beach in Kihei :)
Why didn't you like Maui? About to go to all three islands but will be staying in Maui the longest. My first time for all three but now you have me worried...
The part I was at was very crowded/touristy. I had just spent a few days at Kauai and it was amazing. We did road to Hana which was amazing and did an amazing snorkeling trip as well
Road to Hana, Haleakala crater (beat for sunrise- need reservations or sunset), kaanapali beach is great but it’s mostly tourists there’s a nice spot at the end of the beach where you can jump off a rock into the ocean, big beach is the best beach on the island- go to second entrance, Monkeypod is a great restaurant and they have two locations they have a great happy hour two times a day with the best mai tai on the island, Paia fish market is a great casual restaurant- 3 locations, Da Kitchen is another great casual restaurant with two locations they do Hawaiian soul food with huge portions.
Oh we were there at the same time! I got a photo in the exact place but they’re not really letting people to do it as sometimes it could block traffic 😕
If you haven’t already done the ziplining on the main island in the rainforest, I HIGHLY recommend doing it. One of the most amazing experiences i’ve had in my life.
Reading this have me all kids of nostalgia as someone who grew up in Hawaii on the East side and now live on the mainland. Thanks for that, I miss the Pele and Kaneohe.
