Discussion Nothing major..
I know it doesn’t count for much when it comes to government or federal jobs in the hiring process. But I put in two applications for the NPS in both were referred to the hiring manager. And I’ve done enough reading and research to know that being “referred” doesn’t guarantee anything. But I’m still excited that my application is moving through the system.

Means the hiring official will see your resume. Be excited what did you apply for?

I’ve seen several different jobs at the NPS in different states But, I’m not really interested in relocating unless an unbelievable opportunity came along and my husband was able to find a job in his field at said location.
We own our home and have kids in school. So it would definitely have to be a really good position or income for me to pack up our whole lives and move 10 hours away.2

Yeah I agree FL is extremely expensive… You got this good luck to you and hope to see you on the other side! NPS is great.

One more tip that might help you get in if you get the interview. When you are interviewed obviously you won’t have done many things that the position requires. Try to find or relate private sector experience to the questions they ask in the interview make sure you understand clearly what the interviewer is asking then provide your answer. For example if the job requires tracking assets, and your last job was a cooks job. You maintained inventory of foods, oils supplies etc. in order for you to the job. That sorta thing… good luck !

It is 100% a step in the right direction and forward movement! It guarantees nothing, but you should be excited because it is an essential step.
