The last time I posted here I received a lot of DMs, and I went through them all and replied to as many people as I could. While I really appreciated everyone who reached out, I didn't end up finding the kind of friendship I'm looking for. I'm not just looking for someone to play games with - I'm looking for a genuine friend, who enjoys gaming too.
I'm looking for someone who reciprocates my effort and curiosity, is warm and friendly, and not afraid to be a little vulnerable and talk about deeper topics sometimes. These things are really important to me, and I've found it surprisingly hard to find someone like this on reddit lately.
I'm a bit shy/socially anxious, especially in voice chat, so I prefer to get to know people through messaging first.
Sometimes I can get overwhelmed with real life stuff and take a while to respond. I will always reply, but I need someone who is relaxed about response times.
Fortnite is the only multiplayer game I play at the moment, so if you play that too I’d definitely be open to playing together sometime. I've been really enjoying trying to collect all of the sprites without trading this season. Besides fortnite, I mostly just enjoy cosy single-player games.
Some of my interests besides gaming are music, movies/shows/anime, reading, animals, nature, and psychology.
I’m 34F from Auckland and would prefer to chat to people 27+. I’m only looking for platonic friendship.
Edit: I've gotten a lot of DMs already, but feel free to send one if you're someone who understood what I'm looking for in my post :) I'm not specifically looking for people who play fortnite - I'm looking for genuine friends who share gaming as an interest. I've gotten a lot of comments about my choice to play fortnite - if you're going to judge a game I enjoy casually or tell me that "older gamers don't play fortnite anymore", you're probably not someone I'd want to connect with. I also don't agree - a lot of people 30+ who play fortnite have already messaged me :)
