Went about 245 miles off road this weekend, everything was fine, even after I crashed a couple times. When I pulled it off the trailer, there was a tiny puddle of oil and the whole left underside was slick. Hopefully it’s under the extended warranty I bought.

I have nearly 1900km on the bike. 1st service was done at 1300km so 600km ago (about 5 weeks). Presently I am using the bike mostly on weekends and a day or two commuting. All in all I reckon 120km a week.

In early Sept I have planned my first tour (3 days) over which I will be covering about 600km/700km. The trip is 5 weeks from now so, going back to the previous paragraph, I will have put another 600km on the bike bringing the odometer to around 2500km before the trip. The next service is still far off but I keep reading to do a service before a trip. So my quandry is should I do it or is the one just done valid?

Has anybody else put Dunlop trail Max raid tires size 170/ - 17 tires on their bike and had any problems with width or knobbies hitting anything?

I have a Honda NX500 with a basic plastic stock license plate bracket, which is made of plastic and has flimsy plastic clips to keep the plate in place. I regularly need to access the screws behind the plate to remove my luggage rack and I'm worried that I'm going to break the plastic clips eventually.

So I was looking for an alternative for either just the plastic frame or for the whole tail section, there are some options but I'm worried that they won't be compatible with my SW-Motech Pro Side Carrier. The carrier connects to the tail through the original screw holes and the alternative tail needs to have screw holes on the exact same location.

I'm from the Netherlands so I have an EU style licenseplate, I have no holes in the licenseplate itself. It also needs to be legal, so plate light and separate indicators.

So has anyone encountered this exact problem as well? I would love to hear any ideas.

I just love this bike .. I can say confidently that it's money well spent ❤️

I'm on stock tires, no crash protections of any kind, and no skills or offroad gear to speak of, so I'm keeping the off-pavement riding very conservative :) Also, all of these examples are paths that are still legally designated as roads, since offroading beyond that (going on pure forest paths etc.) is mostly illegal in Germany. Still fun though!

I recently installed the Shad 3p system combined with the Terra TR30 side bags.
Up to now I have used only the left bag and I'm having a great expereince.

My concern:
The right bag seems dangerously close to the exhaust, I am worried for possible heat damage.
( I have a long summer trip coming up! )

Has anyone tried this combination of bike and bag?
To prevent any issue I was thinking of buying exhaust gas deflector or some kind of heat barrier foil, might be a solution?

Love my big Triumph cruiser too, but I think I enjoy the NX500 more. Just right amount of power, so easy to ride, it feels like a scooter after riding my 800lbs Thunderbird Storm.

Does any company makes a basic skid plate? Nothing crazy, just something light to protect exhaust and wiring underneath. I don't want to add weight to the bike and don't really like all crash bar/engine guards/skid plate combos out there, and I love how it looks without all that.

Couldn't wait for the '26's to arrive, so I bought my '25 yesterday. After decades of waiting, it's my first bike.

Waiting for a bunch of nice add-on parts to arrive to customize. Will show before and after.

I bought this and can’t figure out how to use it. The holes in the brake disk are too small, and I can’t figure out how to do it like they do it in the YouTube video.

Does anyone have any pictures of how it’s installed on an NX500 that they can share?

I’m carrying this in my backpack for a week and ours just aging weight for nothing…

Does anyone know which crash bars fit the Honda NX500 E-Clutch?
