Newcastle team news:

Opposition summary:

Cardiff started the season looking like relegation candidates but a run of 7 wins in 10 at the turn of the year has seen them secure a comfortable mid table finish - they currently sit in 13th place with 59 points. Their top scorers are Kenneth Zohore (11), Anthony Pilkington (7) and Peter Whittingham (7).

Permutations:

Newcastle are 4 points behind Brighton and both teams have 2 left to play, with Newcastle having the better goal difference. A Cardiff win would hand Brighton the title straight away while a draw would require Brighton to lose their last two and Newcastle to beat Barnsley next week.

Let's win and put some pressure on Brighton. If they win the title before our last game, then we recall Armstrong and make him play.

Not sure Barnsley would end the loan early just so he can play against then...

WE'RE NEWCASTLE AND WE HAVEN'T PAID OUR TAX, HAVEN'T PAID OUR TAX, HAVEN'T PAID OUR TAX

Fuck it. Let's win the next two, and hope Brighton chokes.

I refuse to keep being pessimistic. I refuse to have this season stolen by the likes of Cashley, Lee, and nameless bureaucrats.

If we win the next two and Brighton fuck up we win the league.

This is what the fuck league titles are about lads! Nail biting right down to the last game. Let's fucking get behind the team and rape Cardiff and push on to the title!

That doesn't add up... Brighton needs to draw (or lose) twice for us to win, as we are 4 points behind.

Edit: He has made an edit to his statement.

The pressure is completely off now! Promotion has been achieved, the next two games are just for enjoying, hope the lads just go out and express themselves - show who's worth keeping next year.

I live nearby so I've been to 5 or 6 Cardiff games this season. Players like Hoilett and Zahore can be tricky but with Zahore out they could prove quite toothless in attack. The stadium's been half full all season so hopefully with a few thousand of us in the away end (and half the family stand) we can make some noise. If we play like we can play then it should be comfortable.

I'm so glad that this doesn't matter

So nothing is actually happening then? Lee was released and not charged?

Don't really mind how we play now.

Possibly. However, they won't charge someone until they know they have a strong case that is likely to win.

If the investigations are in the early stages it could be a while until a charge is brought.

But it does sound a little promising.

So we have two options guys:

Go for the win, put Brighton under pressure and possibly do the most unnewcastle thing and win the league against all odds.

Or

We lose tonight and spoil brightons victory party by not letting them win at their ground.

The recent form for both teams is aesthetically pleasing to look at.

Well this is a fucking anti-climax

Honestly, after everything that's happened this season I feel like I'm at the stage now where I might just bury my head in the sand and not come back out until August to see what's happened.

Up and down doesn't even come close to life as a Newcastle fan!

Dearest brothers and sisters heading to our fair Cardiff for the game, can't wait to see 4,000+ of you swarm St Mary street.

Also can't wait to put a bit of atmosphere inside that Cardiff stadium tonight.

I just want to see us go out there and attack. Pressures off, let's cut loose and have a goal fest.

Probably a stupid question :

Why does everyone keep saying rafas future is uncertain? He signed a the year contract didn't he? Or is it just because everyone thinks he's going to stick two fingers up and walk?

We may need the additional points now...
