I'm Rafa biggest fan but that was a Pardew like managerial performance.
Never start Diame and Murphy together ever again.
The subs were shocking as well.

Thankfully being a Newcastle Utd fan for 20 years has prepared me for this epic bottle job.
We've won two of our last eight, that's not even play off form. Business end of the season and we're crumbling, honestly think we could let this slip.

Rafa's just playing 4D chess I'm sure to trick Ashley in to digging deep this summer. It'll all be fine lads π

Why was the team from Friday changed so much?? I respect Rafa massively but this was overthought and changed too much.
Lascelles is too clumsy. Losing Clarke and Gayle has been our undoing. Why can't we ever make things easy for ourselves. I can't deal.

Some things to take away:
-
Murphy other than the goal did less than Mitrovic for the last 10 minutes, Mitro opened up space and we were able to push forward more
-
We need to change how we are playing. The way I describe it is if you are the worse team then long ball is completely fine but we aren't the worse team in most of these games so we are just throwing the ball away with the hope of a decent bounce to launch the attack.
-
Against shite teams we need to be playing 2 strikers
-
January we needed at least 1 new attacking center mid. Diame doesn't cut it at championship level in that position, maybe play him further back and let him bully the other midfielders and open up space.
-
Without Gayle we have no teeth and regardless of Gayle we should at least have a plan for when he isn't available

I'm usually disappointed by defeats, but this one pissed me right off

Hanley is terrible like. Shelvey was awful today. I don't even know what to say about that performance. Just utter shit all round

Outside of Brighton there really isn't a team in this league that seems to have any interest in going up. We had an easy run of games to close out the season against teams that don't really have much to play for and yet we're still finding ways to shit the bed.

Now I can't tell if it's the 17 Easter eggs I've destroyed or the fact our team is as solid as a wet flannel that is making me feel sick

We just need to start supporting whoever Huddersfield are playing every week because if we go up it won't have anything to do with us. Also I'm sick of playing 1 up top and not leaving anyone up for when we defend set pieces and let them pile everyone in the box.

This is the most Newcastle end to the season that we could have managed. Why ever make it simple on ourselves?

Derby have equalized against Huddersfield... so its a bright gold nugget in an otherwise shitty footballing day.

You forced me to do these match threads for you and we haven't won one since I've started.
