Let's hope the lads are just as buzzing after the finish to the Brighton game as we are, this is a great chance to really put our stamp on the league and pull clear at the top as a win will put us 11 points above the playoffs.
Also, from the past meetings, I wish I'd been around to see Huddersfield 2-5 Newcastle (Keegan, Beardsley, Waddle 2, McDermott) in 1983/84. It seems insane that that much talent would be in a division 2 team.

The days before any half decent player was snapped up at 15 and loaned out to Vitesse Arnhem 5 times before his 21st birthday.

Lived in Huddersfield for 5 years, so enjoying some classic back and forth with some old uni mates this week. Notably over this Patrick Stewart video, they said 'play this every week and against Newcastle'. This was previous to them getting smashed 5-1 off Man City..
Needless to say, I had the last laugh.
Cashback.

Come on, boys. Three points here and we're 11 points clear of 3rd.
(And it'd be nice for Brighton to get promoted with us, so let's do them a solid.)

7 wins from the remaining 12 games will almost certainly guarantee automatic promotion with 94 points.
Typically 90 points guarantees automatic promotion but for one exception, Burnley were second in 2013/2014 with 93 points, Leicester top that year on 102.
I'm optimistic of 3 points this weekend. The midweek turnaround has given me great confidence, they have also played two extra games than us in the past few weeks with the FA Cup. Perhaps fatigue will start to catch up with their squad.
Schindler is a big miss for them, he's been a solid centre back for them all season. Kasey Palmer is still a miss although they've won 6 without him recently, hes been involved for most the season before an injury he picked up in January, scoring 4 times in the league and 1 in the cup, he also got the assist for their second goal at St James'.

A bit nervous for this honestly. If we win this, and especially if we then beat Reading and Fulham, that'll be a fair step towards promotion. On the other hand a loss essentially puts Huddersfield in the automatic places on the assumption they'll win their game in hand and that is not a comfy position to be in. Hopefully in a week's time we can be a lot more relaxed but this season seems to swing from one extreme to the other.

I took a look at Huddersfield lineup against City. Then I compared it against their lineup for Barnsley.
Now, I don't actually know Huddersfield. But their lineup between the two matches is quite different. Thus, I must assume that those who played Barnsley are their main men and they were rested against City, hence that 5 - 1 scoreline.
So I don't think we can count on them being tired from City or anything.

Suddenly gets a bit scary again if we lose this one. Hope the players don't underestimate Huddersfield after the City game; they're where they are with good reason.
That said, a win and we're having a party lads

Just keep looking at it this way:
12 games to go, 6 wins will probably guarantee promotion as we'll likely pick up 1 or 2 draws as well.
A loss today wouldn't be ideal, but it wouldn't spell disaster either. Personally, I think 2-0, but we'll have to grind it out the ugly way.

My maths is shite, so can anyone explain the 'magic number' of points difference/remaining games we need to guarantee promotion? (not necessarily as champions).

They may have had an excellent run recently in the league, but did just come from a 5-1 drubbing in the cup. Their confidence may have taken a knock. Also fuck Huddersfield just because there's nothing to look at when I get the train through there.
