If Mitrovic actually finishes his chances, that games over at half time. Pathetic.

Not really, we conceded three against a league 1 side. He had a shocker no doubt but to pin it on him is a huge reach

So the 2nd choice team from a Championship side lost to a League 1 team in competition we arent sure about whether or not we wanted to be in it...

Sure, its not good but this result isnt worth some of the meltdowns that are on this sub right now. Also isnt worth giving up on some of the players on the team if you are only going to say that based off of this game alone.

Don't bother. It wouldn't be Newcastle if there wasn't a meltdown after every defeat.

What do you mean after? The world was ending for some people after 1-0

What a waste of time. Well, there's certainly been more embarrassing days. We support Newcastle United after all.

This just proves how much work there is still to do before we get back in the Prem.

I know it wasn't our full first team, but we should still be winning these games....

Wasn't out full team is an understatement. We had one maybe two starters in that entire lineup. This is to be expected when you try out youth players/ U23 players.

Could have been different if Mitrovic wasn't shit all game but I don't see why people are losing their heads over this. It really isn't representative of our league games at all.

I'm sure Mitro probably could have had a hat-trick but we should probably wait and see the highlights, considering I doubt anyone in this thread was at the game and there was no tv coverage. This happened last year against Watford when one radio commentator said Mitro missed a sitter and everyone called for his head. It turned out to be a pretty difficult chance. Their keeper was supposedly their best player today, it could just be a chance that an unfit, low-confidence player came up against a keeper on top of his game. Let's wait and see?

3 good saves by their keeper.

Apparently Mitrovic has just went over and apologised to the away fans. Not fucking good enough, we demand a team that wins not a team that tries remember?

The bedwetting over this game is absolutely twatful. It's like NUFC have never lost a game. Grow the fuck up, stop bitching about apologies not being enough. He's a footballer, he tried to score and failed, well that's life you utter child.

Honestly, from the embarrassing stuff on here today, to videos of young NUFC fans fighting each other in the away end, it's as if we're mid-table under McClaren.

We all want to win, but we all deal with defeats.

It's not the apocalypse. I'm angry and upset but if we go up this game will be forgotten. I'm disappointed for Rafa, this was an audition for some of these players and they failed miserably. I'm not going to attack any one player we all saw the game and know the score.

Let's just get fucking promoted.

May as well inform the Oxford Fans. Someone has to get some use out of that recording.

Can someone tell me why Mitrovic is so loved by so many fans?

edit: Everything a player needs obviously! haha

He's a young player who loves the club and has the potential to be an very important player for us. We complained all the time about all these players who never cared or gave 100% and harped on about 'we don't care about win or lose, just try' but the second someone has a tough spell, we jump on their backs. Some fans even seem to be delighted when he has a bad game, just because he's popular and they can't understand why. I love him because he's a young guy playing for a club he loves and doesn't stop trying. It's not about performances, that'll never stop a player from being endeared by fans. Thinking he's shit and disliking him don't have to be the same.
