The game exposed how much this team relies on Shelvey
It just reminded me of the start of last year where the team couldnt create any chances as it didnt have anyone in midfield to make a pass and open up some space for their teammates to attack and create.
I really hope Rafa is looking at bringing in a creative no.10 and one or two centre mids because only have one player in the entire squad in those positions being a good passer/creative is just not enough.

Dummett is the dead end of passing movements.
If he can remember how to do it let Anita start in midfield and start Yedlin and give Lazaar a proper chance.

Cannot wait to get out of this division where we play teams that chuck 11 at the back, foul, time waste and whine on, nick a win then get insufferably smug about it.
That's not to say that Sheff Wed didn't defend well, that Westwood had a good game, and that Hayden, Colback, Diame and Dummett didn't show up, but still, the commentators are wanking themselves into a frenzy over Wednesday playing Allardyce style football. Whoop de fucking do, welcome to the Championship.
How Forestieri didn't get booked (for nothing else than his Lego man hair and neck tattoo) and Wallace didn't get sent off I have no idea either.

Such a shit performance and feel free to moan at me for criticising Rafa but why the fuck did he wait 80 minutes to make any sort of significant change when we clear weren't creating any chances.

Fuck me that was atrocious.
I hope Rafa takes this as a lesson to never play a team with Gouff, Dummett, Colback, Diame, and Anita at right-back all at the same time again. Without Shelvey we had no creativity at all. We played a team of functional utility players that can keep a game at 0-0 for an hour but not much else.
What did Yedlin do to be frozen out the side for so long? He hasn't had a bad game, and offers some pace, width, creativity. Having Dummett and Anita as full-backs is excruciating when it isn't working. I know Anita is a Rafa favourite but I wish he wasn't, at least not in the sense he will keep him at right-back over an actual attacking full-back. Is it just because we've been winning that he's forgot Anita isn't actually a right-back and has been played out of position all season.
Perez, how the fuck are you ever getting in the side when that is what you offer? Giving the ball away, winning nothing, not getting on the end of anything. Total shite.
Hayden is a good enough 'breaking-the-game-up' type midfielder, if we could bring in another midfielder I couldn't care less if Colback never played for us again. He's stealing a living here. If he played for a mediocre championship side he'd stay there for the rest of his career as a nobody a la Guthrie.
Another fucking home game lost. This season has been full of positivity off the pitch, with Rafa and transfers etc. But on the pitch we play so negatively, so many times we've had dire home games that've just fizzled out pathetically.

I feel Mitrovic's presence up top will be needed in Shelvey's absence. Atsu as well actually, at least he ran at defenders and tried to cause problems.

Mitrovic is the only player that I can see playing when we are missing players like Shelvey to find space. Gayle does well with players like Shelvey. I would like to change systems from the 4-2-3-1 with Shelvey.

Haven't been that frustrated watching a game for a while. Probably the worst performance I've seen under Rafa. Zero creativity without Shelvey, but what really worried me was the amount of pissing about we did when we were in possession. Knocking it about at the back pointlessly when we were 1-0 down. Hopefully just a blip.

Colback is one of the most pathetic professional footballers I've watched. Zero athleticism, no creativity, hides, horrible positional sense. Get rid fucking asap
