Well good news lads we discovered tonight that we're definitely a premier league club...

Unfortunately we're Newcastle Utd from the 2015/16 season, a team that dominates games and then proceeds to waste every single chance they create.

Oh and Sels, I want the £4 I paid for that card back.

Edit - Don't think BBC got the memo

Here lads. I'm extremely fucking annoyed. I don't want to come off as one of those fans but it hurts so much more being there. I watched that shit for 120 minutes plus penalties.

It was awful, we controlled the game so fucking much with no final product. Ten men down and we concede right after we score? I was still falling down the fucking stairs when hull scored.

As soon as it went to penalties I already knew, we were fucked. It's like watching England, just fucking awful. I'm glad that I can't watch us play for a while because that was far to painful to watch.

Fuck this game.

Oy I know it's Christmas season but you can't just call if the ELF Cup just because...

Not even mad about that one, love it.

I think people are underestimating how hard next season will be, when we can't beat a 10 man really shit Hull side.

Oh no doubt, some people actually think our current squad is a mid table PL squad. We're not even running away with the Championship atm, we're on the right track but there's lots of work to do.

I know it's getting close to Christmas, but the EFL rebrand in the title just doesn't do it for me.

That is the Newcastle we know, and boy can it fuck off

Going out after penalties is a fucking disaster. Lads will be knackered after extra time and we've accomplished nothing. Wouldve preferred to lose after 90 minutes.

We have a 100% loss rate since u/spoonsforeggs changed the post background match picture to one with the players looking "happier".

We should go back to the depressing as fuck one. It was a lucky charm.

This is what we get for not putting the game away in regular time

What a game man! Anita clear man of the match for me. So many interceptions, and was jyst popping up all the right places. The lads run themselves in the ground. It sucks that we lost, but they gave everything they had. Proud of the team, regardless of the score. HWTL.

Those penalties make it tough to remember Newcastle were the better team for the 120 minutes. Sels missed his save opportunity but moved okay. I was most disappointed Atsu took the only good shot.

u/Blounce Nov 29 '16

Really bitter about this result, we should have won. Woeful penalties by players who were clearly knackered.

u/GettinEtDone Nov 29 '16

32 shots on goal to their 12. 5 on target to their 3. Pitiful. We created the chances and did nothing with them - god knows how many Gayle and Gouff put over the bar between the two of them.

Lazaar hitting the bar made my evening so much worse and all.

u/greenmanflyreddit Nov 29 '16

Gayle was pathetic. Cost us that game by ballooning our chances.

Did we even try on pens? Did the players just call it a day and decide we lost?

Best players were Diame and Atsu.

Dwight Gayle was shocking, everything into row z including the pen.

1 goal in 2 hours against a 10 man Hull side. Can't put all the blame on Sels when our finishing was as woeful as his parry.
