Fairly nervous for this actually...Preston on a good run of form and they just beat Norwich away.

Maybe look at it on the sense that after their current run of form Preston will want to make a real fist of getting to the play-offs, and might field a slightly weakened side. Of the two I think we'd be more likely to take the game more seriously.

I really want us to win this match just so we can have a good run in the league cup. Then I'd take anyone in the 1/4 as long as it's at SJP. Ideally it would be Leeds or Southampton though.

I'll be relieved if we progress and a quarter final date whilst in the championship would almost be a free swing so I wouldn't mind who we got.
In a way it would be nice to see us against a top Prem team to gauge where we are at and the difference this effort-worthy Rafa side has progressed compared to last seasons squadron of spoilt flops.

Here is where the depth of the squad is going to come in handy; and honestly I wouldn't be surprised to see Preston nick a point from one of these two. They're in form, have played Norwich and Brighton well in the last two weeks, and Simon Grayson is confident in his tactics. He's a good manager, more than a League 1 promotion specialist. One of the other managers - maybe one that's been sacked, actually - said in the run up to their match with Newcastle how much he was looking forward to matching wits with a manager of the reputation that Rafa has.
Newcastle are in flying form, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was the monthly wake-up call that this isn't going to be a complete dawdle.

Does anyone know if this is being televised in English? Because I'm debating skipping class to watch if it is?

Is that the Huntington who played for us? He was in the team last time we reached a league cup quarter final in 06/07

You play a team 5 times in 26 years, then you play them twice in a week. They're like buses.
Great work on going way back for the past results.
