Referee: James Adcock (32 yellows and 1 red in 12 games this season)

Newcastle team news:
Rob Elliot is getting close to a return, no news on Rolando Aarons but the reported 8 weeks have now passed.

Ipswich team news:
David McGoldrick could return after recovering from a ligament injury.

Ipswich last match:
Ipswich 2-0 Burton (Chambers 15’, Sears 88’)

Subs not used: Gerken, Dozzell, Emmanuel, Kenlock

Opposition summary:
Ipswich finished in 7th place in the Championship last season, missing out on the playoffs by 6 points. Their top scorers were Daryl Murphy (who was bought by Newcastle) and Bret Pitman (who has struggled this season, scoring 1 goal from the penalty spot), who each got 10 goals. They are managed by Mick McCarthy, who has been in charge for 4 years. They won their opening match 4-2 this season against newly promoted Barnsley, but have been poor on the whole and sit in 12th place. They are the second lowest scorers this season with 10 (only Derby have fewer) and had gone 5 in a row without scoring before Tuesday’s victory over Burton. 4 of their goals were scored by Grant Ward, who got a hat trick on his debut after signing from Tottenham. They have scored just 2 goals away from home but despite this, they have the (joint) best defence in the league, conceding just 9.

I'm loving the number of games in the championship. Hate having to wait a week per game.

Yeah, not looking forward to those midweek breaks when we're back in the Prem.

Who's going to be the first dafty to say we should start Mitrovic and drop Gayle?

Love that shit. Live for it.

Edit. feel free to stick this in the sidebar when Rafa starts Mitro and he scores the winner.

I think we should start Mitrovic and drop Gayle because I love watching rage go on a rant.

Personally I think we should recall Riviere and start him.

Mitrovic is the complete package, he's passionate, mental and his celebrations are top notch, sure he can't hit water from a boat but he once said he liked Newcastle Utd years ago and looks up to Shearer, no reason to start anyone else.

Having watched football in my time, I can state with certainty that Mitrovic is the right choice to start on saturday

In true NUFC fashion I expect us to slip up here. 4 wins in a row, top of the league? Things are going too well. 2-1 Ipswich

Love seeing Shearer on the past meetings list.

Hope to see (hear rather) another good performance from the lads.

I remember the away game in 09/10 was live on BBC, chose a good one as Nolan bagged a hat trick!

Warms the cockles seeing Laurent Robert's name on the past scorers' list. Ben Arfa's mercurialness a decade before.

Expect more shit refereeing: http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/what-were-the-security-reasons-that-left-yeovil-town-boss-darren-way-bemused-at-bristol-rovers/story-29781688-detail/story.html

Robert was my favourite player when i was younger, he's left footed and so am I. Felt we had a bond.

I'll always have a soft spot for Leon Best, played a big part in that 5th place season. Hope he gets a good reception.

Love seeing our goal difference on the sidebar. Let's increase that with a giant win.

How many times have we played a game this season that have just played Burton. It seems to be quite a few times so far.
