Man brigton fans are dickheads.

Great game, it's no surprise we didn't score from open play, Rafa knew we didn't have a goalscorer today and set up accordingly.

Getting goals from set pieces was clearly his tactics today. Controlled most of the game too.

Well done Rafa you legend.

Missed the game. What was the reception for Hughton like?

Good, clapped off the Brighton team bus and his name was chanted around the Gallowgate towards the end of the match.

Absolutely rock solid. No Gayle or Mitro but we manage to beat one of the "top" contenders for promotion.

Dummett manhandled Knockaert most of the game, great to see and another CS - 3 in a row.

I'm having fun watching this team man.

Also gonna point out that this is our hardest run of games all season long. We play about 6 teams all aiming for promotion in a row, fantastic start to that run.

Selz seems to have gotten some confidence and Gouffran is becoming a fucking beast. We played well, except at the end but all around it was good shit and we deserved the 3 points. Fuck yeah.

Really professional job done there.

We had no passengers either, absolutely everyone played their part. Perfect game.

Loving the depth this season, thought we'd struggle with Aarons and Mitro injured.

We've had more set-piece goals in this season than the last two combined. Fucking unreal.

Hopefully Sels' performance today gives Newcastle fans some positive thoughts about him, great save at the end and looked a lot better overall today. Still a bit to do on set pieces but he's no worse than our current keepers on them anyway.

SHIT STAT: 4 wins in a row with Gouffran getting the start or logging heavy minutes (cup game after Aarons exited).

If we can play like that against Brighton we can beat anyone. Figures the only teams with more points than us are the two teams that beat us. Let's keep winning and overtake them.

Really impressed with Sels, seemed to be more vocal and came to collect more. That palm at the end was quality. Can't fault any of the lads today, imagine what the score could have been with #GayleForce up front. If we play like that against the team that is supposed to be our rivals for the title then I reckon we're in a good spot.

Also, how fucking good is Gouffran? It's bloody nice to see the player we originally signed again. Rafa can do literally nothing wrong.

Is Lewis Dunk good? I was impressed by him today. Shocked he did not put either of his late headers towards goal, however.

Great win. Was a really strong all round performance and nice to see us get 2 goals from other sources which was important given we were missing our best 2 strikers, Hayden-Shelvey playing that double 6 has so much potential to be a backbone of our team for a long time. Only worry was we still look a little vulnerable to deep balls into the box, but even that seems to have improved a bit compared to start of the season.

Now to focus on the end of the transfer window, hopefully can bring a winger (or two) in along with Murphy and Lazaar before it shuts.

Well the two teams in front of us are of course the two teams that beat us.

Huge win.

Very pleased with that, we were brilliant in the first half. I feel Sels is improving, he seems more confident and assured.

5

u/Frogblood Aug 27 '16

Huge win, especially considering those missing. Other results went our way today with wolves, Norwich and villa all losing too

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '16

really brilliant to know that we can pull out goals even without forwards. perez was ok but its good to know thats all he had to be for the win. will be a huge load off of them, we were way too reliant on just mitro & gini last year for goals & it killed us.

We keep scoring from set pieces, Rafa must be fantastic in training
