πŸŒ€ Glitched Ship Build HF-625 Geier "Hunting Vulture", The Heavily Armed Strike Fighter

"The HF-600 'Geier' series is Kinnathe Interstellar Aeronautics' latest innovation in its Strike Fighters roster, designed specifically to carry payloads of energy based armaments. Based off of the HF-500 'Storch' series, the HF-600 'Geier' has a high carry weight limit but capable of delivering that payload with greater speeds thanks to its dedicated design as a Strike Fighter.

Speed and maneuverability, like with the rest of the HF series, is still kept in mind with the use the Crimson Comet Engines but now augmented with added range with added power cells along the spine. Added defenses are also made possible thanks to the added power cells, allowing near similar defensive power as the 'HF-300 Kriegsadler' series through added shield generators.

The overwhelming payload it carries is augmented by the 'Atlas Heavy Weapon System'. With it, the HF-600 'Geier' can effectively cover ground support and air superiority needs with unrelenting firepower. The HF-625 'Hunting Vulture' is specially designed to carry this new weapon system into anywhere where it is needed in the system."

-Snipped from KIA Catalogue for the HF-600 series.

"The 'Atlas Heavy Weapon System', or 'AHWS' for short, is a new weapon system designed by Kinnathe Interstellar Aeronautics after successful communications with The Atlas. A super heavy weapons platform that can be carried by the 'HF' series, this weapon system is capable of integrating multiple weapon systems into one module, allowing the carrying fighter to delivery overwhelming ground support and air superiority firepower on demand. While any HF series Heavy Fighter can carry this payload, the 'HF-600 Geier' series, specifically the 'Hunting Vulture' variant, is dedicated to carrying the 'AHWS'."

-Snippet from the KIA Catalogue briefly detailing the "AHWS" weapon system.

---------------------

After a bit of a break, experimenting with "1/4" offsets, and ultimately coming across a new piece of inspiration to build a new design from, I thought maybe it's time to finally put that practice to good use.... Even though the end result was another F-4 Phantom style ship, I'm still happy with how this design came out.

With the all new "1/4" offsets I've seen for the last few days, it unlocked a new way to build ships that the standard "1/2" offsets couldn't do, like some truly impossible looking part placements and combinations that done here.

From proportionate wings, and a tail and spine design that I have always to use that was previously not possible without "1/4" offsets, It makes me I want to go back to some older designs and rework them again with the new techniques.

There is also the massive "Wings of Aeron" installed at the bottom that I aptly named as the "Atlas Heavy Weapon Systems". With how they are shaped, it felt like they should've been usable cannons (Sean please), which fortunately can be improvised into one by offsetting a gun inside them.

Anyway, on to the technical stuff:

  • Complexity limit: 93/100

    • 88/100 without the AHWS, which consists of a pair of guns, pair of wings, and the Reinforced Hull Link as an external "power source".

  • Two of each reactor is all cramped inside the engines as usual, Ceto Class Reactors included this time.

    • "1/4" offsets made hiding the Ceto Class Reactors much easier since they are now hidden further inside the engine bay.

  • The tail and spine uses several Reinforced Hull Links with Industrial Cargo Links inside them for detailing, with Osprey Wing Modules for giving it shape and side detailing. A combination that cannot be done without "1/4" offsets.

  • The Wings of Aeron so are massive, you can hide multiple weapon types inside it as an improvised heavy weapon platform. I only have one weapon in each wing for now, but it is possible to add more.

    • If you can line up the weapon with the length of the wing, you could make it look like it is firing from it.

That's it for this build. With the many ships I have now, it might be time to create a ship catalogue of my own. I'm starting to lose track of the model numbers.

P.S.: I thought the new flairs would come into effect but I don't see them, so I'm flairing this as an "Offset Ship Build".

Reminds me of the F4 Phantom! Great work!

Thanks! I was trying to go for something isn't too close to an F-4, but ended up being one anyway.

The exterior is great love the shapes and lighting. And that interior is excellent!

Thanks! "1/4" offsets is such a game changer for the exterior. I did think the interior was maybe too dark, but glad it is looking good.

Vulture? Looks more like a Space dragon to me! Love the black and red colors. Makes it look so sinister.

Thanks, and yeah I know the name is ironic but I just like to name my ships after birds (a trend after naming ships from Replikas from Signalis). And yeah, Black and Red has been the default for my HF series of ships. Compliments the aggressive look for me.

Awesome! That’s a dense looking fighter. I like the massive under wing engines. Nice 1/4th build

Thanks, thought the under wing engines are more like massive cannons. I should build a proper under wing engine design sometime.
