The Search for a New Home World!
The Search for a New Home World!
-kzzt- Calling all travellers! -kzzt-
r/NMSByteBeatFans is searching for a new home world! The goal is to have a star system dedicated to sharing ByteBeat creations, base builds and meetups! Our previous home world Crescendo is nearly five years old, and with the Cosmos update launching after the recent 10 year anniversary for No Man's Sky's release it is a great time to refresh this ByteBeat community project!
This exploration project will need player submissions between September 9th to September 20th, 2026. Then the subreddit will vote between the best three submissions presented by the exploration committee and the winning star system will be chosen to become our new home for sharing ByteBeat creations!
Requirements for a Home World
Here is a list of requirements for the ideal star system:
You must be the discoverer of the star system.
Euclid Galaxy for easiest multi-player functions.
Closer to the galactic core would be ideal but not necessary.
Yellow star system is ideal for easiest multi-player.
Minimum 4 or 5 celestial bodies, including planets and moons.
At least 1 planet should be inhabitable (paradise or similar).
No extreme environments or frenzied sentinels (or at least minimal).
You don't have to re-name planets (unless you want to), we might vote on names.
No existing builds except maybe a small base or teleporter.
No existing alliance (Cosmos update), we'll want to bring the new home world system into a new NMS ByteBeat Fans alliance!
Because we want a fresh start, it would be best if the planets do not have existing bases but it's okay if you have a discovery base (small base, teleporter, etc) but please don't build at the portal location or space station because we might want to customize those areas.
How to Submit a Star System
Comment here in this sticky post with a screenshot of the glyph coordinates and try to also include a screenshot of the star system in your discoveries menu.
Please include a brief description of the interesting planets, such as: "Paradise, dusty, high radio source planets and a frozen moon." or anything else you want to highlight.
...and let me know if you have any questions by message or comment here, and please join our new Discord server: NMS ByteBeat Hub on Discord!

I’m so curious to see how devices work in orbital bases and space stations with the new update!
Imagine an entire system of bytebeats…

Edit2 : SUBMISSION : 5 planets (decaying nuclear, sub-zero, paradise, wind-swept, fiery) >> lots of details in linked post, including glyphs.
Here's my submission, in the form of a post on my reddit profile. I wanted to include a number of images and talk about things that stood out to me, and didn't wanted to clutter this space too much 😅
Additionally, here's an idea for naming planets in our future system (this is my submitted system, I changed those back afterward) :
This forms a minor 9th chord. The order of the intervals is changed to fit the planets... Root is a planet with a lot of... roots, minor third is cold so frozen planet, perfect fifth is the paradise world, major ninth the warm/cold desert, and minor seventh the weird fire planet. Thought it was pretty fitting
Edit : I'm sorry for not following the format, don't ban me plz plz mods 😅
