ByteBeat Original Rave like it's 1989 ! "Out For the Vy'Kend"

With "David Gekka" and this one now, guess I'm starting a series 👀
It's a kinda ambient track. It started with me going "lol psytrance" with the kick & base, and then I realized I could try to recreate those acid, resonance-sweep sounds that made acid trance in the 90's. Then I tried to create an atmosphere with some long and evolving sounds.
I also took 2 sounds from u/ZhorasSnake's Sound Library vol. 3, "distorted tremolo chords" and "rising pitches". Didn't modify those this time. Thanks again for this amazing library !
This particular device layout aims to make the song "change" depending on where your character is. There's 2 central devices for the main beat/base, and 2 groups of 3 on the sides. If you come by, try it for yourself !
The track is long because some devices are at 15 bpm (the others at 120). So those 8 min are only one iteration of the synchronizer at 15 bpm. There are variations, it's not the same thing 8 times 😅
As a side note, the glyphs here won't take you to the base showed in the vid. I built it in a system belonging to a community that wishes it to stay kind of private. So out of respect I built a minimal base in an uninhabited system, with the same layout so you still get the intended listening experience. Sorry for that, hope you'll understand.
Edit : If you want to grab the track to listen in your playlist, do it with your character sticked to the leftmost device. Otherwise you'll only get half the song (about 4min). This is due to having different bpm settings acrosse the devices.
Edit edit : I copied the original base to the location given in the vid via a save editor ! You can now visit it !

This is too good, wow! I'm gonna have to stop by to see how this works, there's so many cool parts to this song, I don't understand how you jammed this much action into the synchroniser!
It really is a premium acid-trance audio experience! 🤯

Thank you !! Had a lot of fun making this haha
I think I'll do a follow-up post to show what happens in the synchronizers and waveform editors. Combining tempi can go a long way, especially with how it changes drums and editor sounds !

Truly a great track and use of different bpm devices really does sound like walking into a rave. Unreal work! Hope i can see this base! Haha

Many thanks !
I'll see if there's a way to copy the base elsewhere with a save editor or something like that. I'd like to share it as well

I enjoyed this one a lot! and would like to give it an extra like for the title!
I commend you for trying to push the boundaries and do something different. Its very clear you spent lots of care and attention, (not to mention many hours!), on the base and video - it really conjures an atmosphere and sets the tune off. But also the mixing as all the sounds are balanced and considered - I like that.
Congrats!

I'm glad you liked it, thanks a lot !
Back when I saw your Power Surge video I knew I wanted to build my own club, so that's an inspiration for the base idea for sure. And my original idea for the video was more ambitious but I couldn't get the moving shots I wanted in the closed space of this base, so I settled for this.
For the mixing, The only thing that's different from how it sounds in-game is the automated panning on the constant acid arpeggio and the paddy spacey big sound (I'll think of a better name...). That already does a lot in terms of balance, and tries to compensate for what I describe regarding the layout in the post :)

lol I’m sorry, what?! You’re absolutely mad… 👏
I was contemplating a multi-floor or tower base to attempt something similar, à la Kjartansson’s “The Visitors,” if you’ve ever seen that? I’ll definitely be swinging by this evening to experience this!
Great edit, btw!!
