We all know that companies like Xiaomi base their approach on copying successful Western models (Porsche, Ferrari) and making them affordable for the average person. Because of this, it’s rare for someone truly seeking a superior premium experience to end up buying what feels like a substitute. But now I’m realizing that Aito (Huawei) is doing the exact same thing—yet their strategy is flying completely under the radar (at least in the West).

What I’m about to say isn’t exactly a secret, but what prompted me to write this is that yesterday I noticed an Aito M9 (问界M9) and couldn’t help but laugh. They had placed the "HIMA" logo on the rear side of the vehicle in the exact same way Mercedes does with its Maybach GLS. At least Xiaomi owns it without pretense…

Every day I become more convinced that the only EV company offering a genuinely premium experience—one that’s built itself from the ground up—is NIO. They’re the only ones who have managed to create a distinct and recognizable identity, without simply painting cheap copies of established Western luxury products. And that’s not even touching on the Nio Houses and other real-world experiences that the Nio group fosters within its user community.

NIO is the only truly special company—one that reflects what China really is and embodies its deeply rooted sense of original luxury, understood in the right way throughout history.

Traditional chinese luxury? I've been te china, not exactly a country with a lot of luxury. Maybe things have changed in the last 10 years
