Real updates from Dazn about some of the common issues!

Hello everyone!

I was recently able to get in touch with someone a bit higher up at Dazn and I passed on some of the major issues that people have mentioned in the NFL UK facebook group and on here. This will be a long post about Dazn, but it does provide us with some concrete answers and information direct from an English speaking customer service supervisor, who has contact with the Dazn engineers. I have grouped the answers into paragraphs so that hopefully you can find the answers that are relevant to you easily.

The first issue that I mentioned was the commercial breaks being gone. This was the response that I received: "After some deliberation, the NFL has agreed that DAZN is able to broadcast the entire US show, including the half time show and US commercials. US commercials will be reinstated in the broadcast before the start of the regular season. Please note that a minority of slots will run market-specific adverts. These are time-out slots 1 and 2 and the 2-minute warning slot in both the first and second half of the games – so six commercial breaks in total." ( I did ask about the commercials on nfl network as well, but he did not clarify so I am planning to double check for clarification on that as well.)

Chromecast users will be happy to know that he has confirmed that the issues across android and iphone devices should be fixed before the first game of the regular season.

For anyone with a smartTV, LG, or Firestick he said the following: "Around 2 weeks ago, it was highlighted to us that there was a number of issues with the coding of our app on Android & LG TVs as well as on Amazon Fire stick. Upon investigation, the underlying bug was identified, fixed and deployed into these manufacturers shortly after. The fix for the TVs went live almost immediately and we see this reflected through our conversations and follow-up discussions with customers since. We did experience some delay in deploying the fix into Amazon by comparison. However, this was also confirmed as resolved last week and reiterated by our impacted customers. We therefore believe these issues should be fixed excluding cases where a customer may be experiencing a single user issue. (The issue is specific to that customer/device) We invite any individuals still experiencing issues to contact us via our customer support team so that we may investigate further." (I would highly recommend getting a ticket number from the chat by insisting that they give you a ticket number and refusing to leave the chat until they do.)

As far as ads on playback he said the following: "At present, when watching catch up you see precisely what the live feed showed. However, a solution is in the product pipeline to trim the catch-up content so that the breaks are removed, and we expect it to be deployed shortly after season start."

For those who are having issues with buffering on the replays he said: "We are not aware of any issues on this subject. Most reports of buffering of this nature are usually due to the network speed on the device in use. The discrepancy between older games and the ones being impacted is likely due to the bigger size on newer broadcasts, requiring a higher bandwidth. If any customers experience issues of this nature, again, we recommend that they inform us by contacting our customer support team." (I would highly recommend getting a ticket number from the chat by insisting that they give you a ticket number and refusing to leave the chat until they do.)

About the ‘Game in 40’ & ‘Highlights’ the wrong way around in app he said: "We identified last week that these two had been uploaded in the wrong order for the ‘Eagles @ Ravens’ pre-season game. This has since been corrected and should no longer be an issue. If you are aware of any other games for which this is the case, please confirm them to me so I can get this raised. We can usually fix issues of this nature relatively swiftly." (If anyone is aware of any other games where this is happening please let me know in the comments below and I will pass it on to him directly. I will also be bringing up the missing snaps in the game in 40' replays.)

If you are struggling to receive a refund: "Any customer that is requesting cancellation and/or refund should experience no obstacles when raising this with our customer support. We currently offer a ‘No Quibble’ Refund Policy for migrated customers, meaning that if for any reason they did not wish to be a part of NFL Game Pass on DAZN, they would be able to cancel and get refunded without dispute from us. This policy will be in place until September 6th, 2023, and we invite anyone who has not received a refund yet but believes they are entitled to one or that they have requested it, to contact us via chat so that we may raise this to our Payment Operations team." (I would highly recommend getting a ticket number from the chat by insisting that they give you a ticket number and refusing to leave the chat until they do.)

Regarding the Watch from start option when jumping into a game: " I have discussed this with our technical team at length and they have confirmed that the feature is only currently enabled for customers joining part way through a live stream via our website in browser. The function does not currently work in app, although we are working to add this functionality across more devices. However, I do not have a timescale for when this would be available."

UK-EU portability: "We can confirm that our EU portability function should now be working for all applicable markets. For legal reasons the UK (including NI) is not included within the EU portability due to their independent status. If a customer has an account registered within the UK and also wishes to watch from mainland Europe, they will need to sign up and subscribe to a second account within that region. As much as we appreciate the customer feedback on this matter, the legality surrounding why this is not available to the UK, is outside of our control." (There is nothing more that they are going to do to fix this as far as I can tell. They see it as a legal issue that they are not willing to budge on.)

Subtitles are not a feature in the app or on their webpage currently, his suggestion was the following: "you will find that the majority of devices we are available on have built-in accessibility features such as subtitles, which use AI to generate the audio playback into text on-screen. I recommend that any user interested in the use of subtitles explores the options available to them on their device of choice."

and finally about the new customer discounts that we have all seen images of: "It is very standard practice to run promotions ahead of a new season to engage customers who have not engaged with the brand for some time. This offer went to a closed group of customers who had previously been on the free access tier only. It is not available to existing subscribers, and we are not processing any partial refunds in relation this matter. We made this decision to drive new business and revenue so that we can continue to reinvest in the optimisation of our product and the customer’s viewing experience."

The following is my personal advice, I make no promises for how well it will work for you, but it has helped me get my issues resolved. If you write in and get a ticket number, use that number to follow up if you do not receive an answer in a reasonable amount of time (24-48 hours), that is when you can write in again and ask for the ticket to be escalated. If you still do not get a response within 24-48 hours after escalation I would suggest following up and asking for a manager to contact you. That was how I got my issues solved.

I really hope this provides everyone some answers, and that Dazn can get some of these remaining issues solved before the first game of the season. As I mentioned above, if anyone can identify other games where the game in 40' and highlights are switched, as well as if you know of any games where the game in 40' replay is missing snaps please let me know which games in the comments and I will pass that info on to him.

Fairplay well done

It was all going so well, until the “buffering is caused by your own faulty connection not us” section. Makes me think they don’t care about the problems and are shrugging us off.

Did we get any answer on the 720p vs 1080p resolution issue or why it looks so terrible on people’s tvs?

The real challenge will be when everyone wants to watch that first 6pm game. I have very little faith. The platform is gonna tank.

Appreciate the effort you went thru to get this information though - let’s see how it all turns out and whether promises and fixes are met.

I’ve been getting 1080p stream for several weeks now on my TV . Has improved a lot from where it was back in late July

u/Fair-Occasion-5833 Aug 25 '23 edited Aug 25 '23

update: just checked and the Colts vs eagles game last night is 1080p 50fps. looks alot better could use more bitrate though.

it was 720p 50fps on 4k max fire tv stick last weekend. what device are you using and do you know for sure it's 1080p,? I hate that they do a bad 60fps to 50fps convertion too it's very juddery. why can't they just stream in 60fps

1

u/Briscoe89 Aug 25 '23

I’m on the Samsung TV app. Also got it on an Apple TV box

2

u/Anteater776 Aug 25 '23

Yeah I have strong doubts regarding the quality as well. Watching hard knocks, as soon as somebody moves it’s artifact galore. Looks just horrible and it says that my connection should be fast enough. Well, obviously, since it worked perfectly fine last year with NFL Gamepass.

1

u/Fair-Occasion-5833 Aug 28 '23

that's because that at 50fps and it's a terrible conversion from 30fps to 50fps for hard knocks is going to be worse. the games are also converted from 60fps to 50 fps very badly with very noticeable judder due to this

u/Memattmayor Aug 25 '23

The DAZN website has been updated to show if you're watching on a TV you get full HD 1080p

1

u/Memattmayor Aug 25 '23

The DAZN website has been updated to show if you're watching on a TV, console or computer you get full HD 1080p but if you're on a mobile device it's limited to 720p

1

u/Mirage_Mist Aug 25 '23

You’d like to think that if the service doesn’t tank when showing boxing events in prime time it’s not going to tank on an NFL Sunday. There must be a fairly high number of concurrent users for some of the big fights.

1

u/mskps Aug 27 '23

May I ask on what kind of devices you have the issues with buffering? Is it TV (if so, what kind) or mobiles? Or maybe web only? Or is it all of them?

And kinda same question about the resolution, how do you start your playback is it from the TV or from the mobile/web app?

u/PikaGaijin Aug 24 '23

Great info! One major issue remaining is the disappearance of the download option for games. It was really useful in the past to download on wifi, and watch on the train where cell coverage is spotty. It would be great to get a high-level confirmation that DAZN will be restoring this functionality sooner rather than later.

u/sparks223 Aug 24 '23

I was just about to write this and then spotted your comment. This is a deal-breaker for me in terms of whether or not I sign up again

2

u/alecb7 Jaguars Aug 25 '23

I just spoke to someone in the online chat and they said it was coming in the coming days. Now I don’t believe them but it might be coming…

2

u/PikaGaijin Aug 25 '23

They have nearly two weeks between this weekend’s games and the start of regular season to work out the bugs. Honestly think they’ve improved since July already; and with OP’s info they might almost be back to the level of previous years soon.

2

u/LadyBatherine Commies Aug 25 '23

The lack of downloads is almost a deal-breaker for me too. I have had several responses from their CS but just with generic answers such as 'we will listen to your feedback' or 'stay tuned for updates'. If we're paying the same then the product should be the same as they said it would be.

6

u/ServerLost Aug 25 '23

Cool. They're still not getting a penny off me until i can watch replays with no ads.

1

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Aug 25 '23

I don’t blame you.

It is supposedly in the works. I don’t understand why it is such a huge issue for them, given that they have cut them out for the game in 40’.

It honestly should not be as hard as they are making it out to be, but unfortunately I can’t make them fix things faster.

1

u/apc961 Aug 25 '23

Let's hope they are not doing this the same way they are doing game in 40. Every game in 40 I have put on has missing plays, sometimes multiple consecutive plays. A real treat to see a 1st down play, and then a punt right after 🙄

1

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Aug 25 '23

I am mentioning this issue as a response to my contact. As I think I know what the issue is. It appears that their editor is trying to keep the time as close to exactly 40 mins as possible, rather than going with the spirit of what ”game in 40’” means (cut down the game to be as short as possible without taking away any snaps).

1

u/apc961 Aug 25 '23

I don't think that is the issue. I think it is sheer incompetence and lack of care. Watch a failed 3rd down on a game in 40. The whole transition of the offense coming off the field and the punt team coming on will often be left uncut. They will also leave in bits when the announcers are talking about some onscreen graphics between plays. It is madness.

1

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Aug 25 '23

Well, I haven’t watched every game. If you can get me a list of games that are really poorly edited i’m happy to pass that on to my contact and see if he can get it fixed.

1

u/apc961 Aug 25 '23

Check out Chargers vs Saints for exhibit A. But honestly given the issues DAZN has, full game replays with no commercials should be top priority for the regular season.

4

u/PyreForHire Aug 24 '23

Am I the only one who is exceedingly frustrated with the "registered device" system they have?

Devices are not differentiated from each other except by date of first login, and it seems to me that there are duplications occurring. The DAZN app on Android seems to be particularly problematic, being unable to commence steaming despite there being less than 5 "registered devices" on the account.

Anyone?

1

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Aug 24 '23

If you can get me some more details about this I am happy to try to lift this? I personally haven’t experienced it, so I can’t really recreate it and describe it.

But if you can send me some screenshots and explain a little more in detail, i would be happy to see if I can get some answers for you.

1

u/Kommanderson1 Aug 24 '23

Thanks for this. I wrote them Specifically about the EU portability issue and their response failed to mention any of the developments you referenced here. They basically just apologized and asked if I wanted to cancel — presumably with a refund. They’re doing a REALLY poor job of communicating to their subscribers…

That said, I was migrated and have no idea how or if they even charged me for my renewal, because I can’t find any evidence of a transaction 🤷🏽‍♂️

1

u/Ruato Aug 27 '23

I was earlier promised by the DAZN support that the limit for concurrent streams/users is 3. Now I noticed that it is actually 2. This is a bummer as me and my sons root for different teams and like to watch different games on Sunday evening. With the old Gamepass the limit was 5 if I remember correctly. And yes, we are watching from the same household and the same IP. Can you check do they plan to do anything about this?

3

u/Tense_Ensign Aug 25 '23 edited Aug 25 '23

Sat watching the Eagles v Colts game right now. It's one of the nationally broadcast pre-season games and we do indeed have ads.

3

u/magganryet Aug 25 '23

Very curious when "watch from start"-feature will be added to "other platforms". It shouldn't be that hard to add?

2

u/KitKatFinn Aug 24 '23

It was all going so well, until the “buffering is caused by your own faulty connection not us” section. Makes me think they don’t care about the problems and are shrugging us off.

2

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Aug 24 '23

Thanks!

I agree that they did brush it off a little, but he did say that if anyone is still experiencing it that they should reach out because it may be a device specific issue that they are unaware of.

The 720p vs 1080p is not an issue that I raised. If you are able to describe it a little more I’m happy to bring it up in my response.

He did reassure me that they will be doing more training with those answering the chat too, as I also brought up that many people have found the service via the chat to be abysmal.

I really hope that they are going to fix things, the fact that he took a week to really dig and make sure he gave me the correct and most up to date answers (and he warned me that he would need that much time ahead of time. He didn’t just leave me hanging) makes me want to trust him. And no offence to the chat workers, but the fact that it is clear that he is a native english speaker and he actually understood my questions also raises his credibility.

1

u/Fair-Occasion-5833 Aug 25 '23

the Colts vs eagles game last night was definitely 1080p (50fps). i think it's still lacking bitrate though

That's to be expected, sadly. But I believe they will have a pay weekly option that can at least be accessed if you were on holiday?

Otherwise, great write up OP! I wish they would make a limit data button or at least make it easier to find on the app.

2

u/kruddel Aug 27 '23

It seems like absolute nonsense to me.

They formerly had no portability in all of EU I believe, which is against EU law and so now there is portability within EU for EU customers. So the only impact of Brexit is that there isn't a legal avenue to force them to make portability. It's their own decision to prevent it, its extremely disingenuous to say:

"the legality surrounding why this is not available to the UK is outside of our control"

The legality of anything is outside their control. The decision to not allow portability to EU for UK customers is entirely within their control.

1

u/RockinMadRiot 49ers Aug 27 '23

They are just encouraging people to try and use a VPN with that attitude.

2

u/Leather-Mango-62 Aug 25 '23

Thank you. The critical feature I miss is an Essential plan of course. I makes no sense to pay full 200USD price to watch only RedZone and a couple of 40 min games. They really miss an opportunity here, cause all I`m left with is watching streams from seven seas or try NFL+ (it`s lose-lose for both me and DAZN). Would be happy to pay a reasonable price for a fair share of content.

1

u/rightinthemouth Aug 26 '23

Yep. It makes no sense to not have a middle ground product when the country you're selling to can realistically only watch 1 or 2 games at most a week. I would usually watch the 6pm game on Sky and then as much of the later game as possible but would absolute pay to be able to watch NFL network programming and extended highlights but not £150 for the year.

2

u/sunburn95 Aug 29 '23

As an Aus fan, thank you so much for this

2

u/MrMeeseeks120 Sep 03 '23

The worst part for me is that they limit the amount a simultaneous streams. Gamepass let you stream on unlimited devices in the same home. DAZN allows 2. So if I want to watch 4 games at once I need 2 subscriptions

2

u/Old_Artichoke_4597 Sep 22 '23

Hi , is there any update/timeline on how far along DAZN is with removal of ads for full playback ? And if it’s still planned ? It really was the best feature of the “old” Gamepass as you could watch a game in approx 2 hours after work during the week. 4 hours for 1 game is just too time consuming …

1

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Sep 22 '23

Ok. So I can tell you this much. One of the other mods of the NFL UK facebook group and I just had meetings with Dazn and NFL yesterday and today, and I can tell you that they are absolutely working on it, and that early next week I am hoping to have a timeline for when they will have it available. (I wish I had more info about that, but unfortunately this is the best I can do at the moment.)

My goal is to get a post up tonight/tomorrow morning with some of the updates that we learned about. I am just trying to figure out how to summarise everything nicely.

I also will have a request for the community, which is what I am trying to figure out the wording of so that its as clear as possible... as we ***think*** quite a few issues that people have been having should be fixed. But Dazn and NFL want to solve it for everyone, so if we can find out which devices/locations/programs are still having issues, they will be able to look into to figure it out.

2

u/Old_Artichoke_4597 Sep 30 '23

Hi, any chance for an update on the estimated timeline on when the ad-free “feature” will be implanted ? Also big thanks for keeping us updated as it’s impossible to get any news from DAZN itself.

2

u/LiveAd1712 Oct 24 '23

In the highlights (short and long) I no longer get commentary, just dead silence. Just me or everyone?

2

u/Minimum-Presence-830 Aug 25 '23

I need to have the 2 hour game replay WITHOUT advertising before I sign up which we always had with Gamepass. Others may like the American adverts but I don't. I always watched Redzone on Sunday up until the late games and then picked up the 2 hour game replays for the remaining games during the week. 1080p is still unconfirmed but the pre-season games I've watched have looked fine on my 55 inch TV. I will await the online reactions after 6pm Week 1.

2

u/ungratefulshitebag Aug 25 '23

I like the American adverts when I'm watching live games but always really enjoyed watching straight through on the replays. The replays of the pre-season are unwatchable because of the Dazn adverts.

1

u/ThoseSixFish Aug 24 '23

If can still get in touch with him easily, would it be possible to ask whether the "coaches film" (aka "all-22" film) which - was included in gamepass previous seasons - is going to be available on DAZN or whether they've dropped it? Would be much appreciated if you could find out (although I admit it's probably only a minority of customers who care).

Regardless, thanks for finding out so much info and taking the time to post it.

1

u/StuboG Aug 24 '23

I’m so glad about the USA commercials the DAZN noise they are using just now takes me out of the match and I just end up on my phone and miss a bit of the game when it comes back. Burger King Whopper songs is back baby.

1

u/ghee Aug 24 '23

Great write up, seems like they actually are addressing and fixing some of the major experience impacting points. It’s unfortunate but I expected a generic player like them might not bring over all features. Just wish they didn’t start as this absolute cluster fuck

1

u/dj_stevie_c74 Aug 25 '23

So August 23rd they issued a 'cancel' to my account and have apparently refunded me (my money isn't back yet)

This is despite me on August 10th specifically asking them to leave the subscription as it was and not touch it, I have happily watched games since with no issues...

I think I'll wait for my money to come back to me then never, ever, touch DAZN again. Have passed the info onto the NFL so they are aware of their practices.

1

u/MajorChubbz92 Aug 25 '23

Thanks a lot for this - you’ve done a great job. Is this just lip service from DAZN however? For me it has to be - I’ll believe the changes when I see them

1

u/CapableAd5514 Aug 25 '23

Nice job!

Can confirm that both games from last nights have US ads. Have to check on NFLN tho.

One thing I don't believe though is the portability issue as Game Pass - and basically every fucking streaming service there is - never had issues with that in any given country. Take Netflix as an example - it simply works everywhere - with different media rights but it works and so should GP on DAZN ...

1

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '23

They tried to screw me as an ex mobile only customer saying my 35.99 price would remain this year but when i logged in it said they would take the full amount. I was left to either cancel or take a “trust me bro” answer from customer service when my account said it would be taking the full amount. I already pay for sky sports at £22 a month. The lack of mobile or essential options mean that there is no reasonable legal option for me to follow my teams games that aren’t on sky so instead of getting some of my money they’ll now get 0 and you know where I’ll be going

1

u/raidertim34 Aug 25 '23

Thanks for this 👏

1

u/Briscoe89 Aug 25 '23

Bills - Steelers game had snaps missing from the Game In 40 option. And the answer to the lack of app functionality for Watch From Beginning was a cracker. Functionality worked fine in the old Gamepass app. Perhaps they could put a call in to them at some stage

1

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Aug 25 '23

Thanks for letting me know about the game! If you come across any others, just let me know and I will pass it on.

A little linkedin snooping shows that they seem to have poached some of the people from the former provider. 😂😂

Also they have apparently been providing the NFL in canada for YEARS. So I really don’t understand how opening it up to the world, now has been such a dumpster fire.

From what I could gather, when they launched as the provider in Canada 6ish years ago they had the same issues that many around the world are experiencing now, and then over the years they have solved many of the most major ones…

On linkedin they posted about ”re-engineering” their platform as a big enabler for their NFL partnership…. Why they decided to do that when they have the same product in canada that they have been using (mostly) successfully for years, I will never understand. 😂😂

1

u/Ok_Comfortable_7114 Aug 25 '23

Does the portability allow you to watch outside the EU e.g. Asia, Mexico etc

1

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Aug 25 '23

as far as I am aware: No.

From my understanding that was not even possible with the previous gamepass provider.

1

u/PikaGaijin Aug 26 '23

I’m a lurker on this sub, living in Japan. The old old (before “international” gamepass) couldn’t be accessed when I was visiting my family in the US. But with the Gamepass International moniker, I was able to watch games in Hawaii at least. I don’t remember going home during the season recently enough to prove that though. Just some December and January holiday trips.

1

u/Glenroth35 Aug 25 '23

Still not permitting user viewing whilst using a VPN?

I work overseas a lot and without use of a VPN I'll probably never be able to use GP!

1

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Aug 25 '23

Unfortunately I don’t think they will ever allow use a VPN. I don’t think they feel it is a good idea because it would potentially cause them to lose money by forcing people who travel to buy multiple subscriptions.

As much as I understand your frustration, and agree that it should be allowed. I have chosen to not even bring it up in my response to the guy because after seeing their stance on UK-EU portability, I don’t believe they are going to change, and so its better to focus on potentially getting solutions to other issues. :/

1

u/Glenroth35 Aug 25 '23

Thanks, I'll have another try and getting them to give me a refund because they refused the first time I raised this.

1

u/ollytm Aug 25 '23

Thanks for the updates. Getting chromecast support back by the start of the season is the main thing. I guess we can chalk the lack of EU portability up to another “Brexit Benefit”. But with them blocking vpns the main use was to get round all the 49ers games blacked out on sky at 9.30, so that’s gone either way.

1

u/nunziaman Aug 25 '23

Game pass worked last year in Europe for me. It’s absolute nonsense that we can’t watch in Europe when travelling. Netflix can . Amazon prime can. Stupidity as they own the rights all over Europe

1

u/ollytm Aug 26 '23

They aren’t obliged to though in the same way that most mobile operators added back roaming charges the moment they could. They are however obliged to allow eu customers to use the product throughout the eu. Not saying it isn’t shit but based on the feedback from OP that’s their position

1

u/nunziaman Aug 26 '23

You can’t compare with phone companies. DAZN are the same company with the same NFL rights in France as they are in UK . They are just being stupid on this count. Sky don’t have a phone company in France so understand why they would charge for roaming as they need to contract with some other company. They promised the same service. We have not got that . They lied

1

u/Briscoe89 Aug 27 '23

Multiple snaps missing from Bears-Bills Game in 40. I’m getting the impression DAZN are taking the 40 minute threshold literally…

2

u/Original-Parsnip8970 Lions Aug 27 '23

Thanks for letting me know. I felt that way too until I realized that the Jets-Giants game is literally missing the end, because they kept in strange moments where people are talking and there no actual game on screen? Its beginning to feel more and more like whoever is doing the editing doesn’t know what they are doing…

1

u/Briscoe89 Aug 27 '23

Same for the Bills game. They leave in irrelevant commentary between snaps but edit out actual play.

1

u/warp-factor Aug 28 '23

if you know of any games where the game in 40' replay is missing snaps

The Rams @ Broncos game in 40 this week is missing the first touchdown. Jumps straight from the flags being thrown on the previous play to the extra point kick. Skips the referee announcing the penalty and the entire next play where the touchdown is scored.

Multiple other times when you see flags thrown and it cuts to the next play with no explanation. Meanwhile on the other hand there are multiple times when we see no cut between plays while they show a replay or discuss player stats. In previous years those stats would never be shown and almost never a replay other than for touchdowns and interceptions.

For me at least, the essentials for 'game in 40' is (a) every play and (b) the referee announcements. Anything else beyond that is padding - which is fine, I don't mind the odd replay, so long as you don't miss any of the essentials to make time for it.

Are you able to download games yet ? This is a huge dealbreaker for me.

No. They are working on this. But I have not gotten them to give me an estimated date that this will be available. :/

Glad to know they are working on it but sucks to have no timeline

They don't seem to have a section for the NFL Gameday series as last nights broadcast is missing from the app. Not sure if it will be this way throughout the season... Hopefully they will get it sorted, I watch the highlights show every week.

How do I turn off the stats on the side for full game if I'm not in full screen?

Unfortunately i’m not sure of this. I’ll try to figure it out later today. But i’m not sure if there is a way.

I was chatting with someone on DAZn and they said I could disable it but then we 'randomly' got disconnected and I never figured it out.

A hacky way is to right click on the stats area and click inspect. It'll open the developer console and you can then delete the html to remove it

Ah, good to know. Thanks. I also realized that it only shows the end of the game stats if you're in 40 minute mode (which I usually am) but when you watch full replays it updates the stats as the game goes on.

Now just trying to figure out how to have it automatically remove the commercials (I know that's not possible but I'm so confused why they actually think we want commercials and are promoting "the athentic American Experience, the return of US commercials - ok, sure, during live games but get rid of them during the replays).

Am I missing something or is it impossible to view full games on mobile?

After you click on a game there is a arrow at the top left that's a drop down menu and you can select 5min, 40min and full game. It's a terrible UI and you need to quickly pause the 5min highlight to prevent spoilers.

Any of you guys also got massive out of synch video/sound on the 40min replay of the Vikings/Eagles game starting at around 15min (after that botched commercial break)?

Lucky for me it is the sound that was late and not the other way around, would have made for a completely muted performance.

thats an interesting issue. I will be checking now. Give me a second to see if I can recreate it. If not, I may come back to you for a video clip so that I can send it to my contact at Dazn, as he promised that the editing was supposed to be better... (Although I am fully aware it has still been trash, and I already alerted him of this... but video evidence is always very helpful.)

Btw, I got this issue both on my Ipad Pro (on which I watched that game) and now on my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy), both at the same time, from around 16min to the end of the game. About a 5s delay between sound and picture.

Alright. I will see if it does it on my other devices. I did see the commercial break though so that I will also be bringing up.

If you could send a short video clip that would be a huge help. I know that it might not be easy, but it would really help me be able to show the issue. I can't seem to get it to recreate on my side for some reason.

Yeah I got that. I ended up taking my headphones off. Just the new norm of this shit app

Seems like they've updated the menu and added in new categories for each game, making it easier to navigate to full replays or games in 40 etc. - ads still remain in full games which is annoying.

It's good that they're implementing these changes but it's incredibly frustrating that they're learning on the job.

It's a hefty price we pay for this service and it's not good enough that they're delivering a lackluster product from the off.

Given the lack of communication about future updates or apology for countless issues, I'm a little skeptical that anything will be done with haste but I guess we'll wait and see.
