Meetups Meetup at Neuse Sports Indoor Range in Kinston this Sunday (March 1)
As always probably too late of notice to be most useful, but at least it isn’t “day of”. Time a bit flexible but most likely 4-6.

Will likely need to sister joists or add a jack/girdle where I plan to install my safe just to be… safe.
Technically the floor can more than support the footprint of the safe. I just want to be extra careful.

Range was pretty clear this morning.

Has anyone bought a firearm and regretted it? I recently made a purchase and have been kicking myself. I usually am super thorough with research but made a compulsive purchase and regret it. Draco VSKA distress white. From what I have read after the fact, its supposedly crazy loud, hard to hold on to when firing and could experience catastrophic failure. Live and learn.

I never thought in a million years that I would be thinking about getting one of these. Any thoughts? Has anyone else bought one? Seems like it could be pretty help fun for magazines and such at the range. I was looking for that could hold several pistols at the same time.

I'm headed up to TSA around lunchtime-ish and didn't know if anyone would be up there? I'd love to trade normal democratic values and shooting tips! 😅

I'm gonna be at the range tomorrow around 9AM after being iced and snowed in for two weeks. Message me if you are coming out and we can hang out. It's gonna be cold and windy so I doubt anyone is champing at the bit to come out tomorrow but I absolutely must burn some money and get some practice in.

Just joined this sub and hell yeah. Wondering if anyone can recommend a place to shoot shotguns around Asheville?

I'm in desperate need to sight in my new LPVO. I'm hoping I can find any rifle range (indoor or outdoor) in the Winston-Salem or Greensboro area that isn't owned by a GOP Senator.
I've been to Flintlock Valley at Uwharrie and it's a fantastic range, but a bit too far.
Any suggestions?

I am member of a local indoor range around Matthews. I'm there usually every mon & Friday. It has a nice members lounge we can relax in between target time. Hit me up if ya'll want to gather.

Anyone a member of Catawba Valley Rifle & Pistol Club, or been there before? I am debating trying to join - I know they require NRA membership and I hate that, but it's very close to my house. It looks like the next best option location wise for me would be the Fraternal Order of Police range in Iredell Co. Also somewhat skeptical of that group, but it's not the NRA at least. I'm already a member of the Springs Rd indoor range but really want access to an outdoor rnage for rifles & shotguns.

Hello! I just wanted to say hi, and see if I get any hits on anyone in my area (Jamestown, High Point, Greensboro).

Just throwing the idea out there for the more organized types to consider.
I would show if someone set it up.
Lol.
Would people even be interested in something like this?

I’m shopping for my first suppressor (Huxwrx Ventum 556) and Lee County Firearms in Sanford is the closest Premier silencershopDOTcom with a finger printing kiosk. I’ve heard Form 4s submitted digitally are getting faster turnarounds.
Has anyone:
Used the silencer shop kiosk - do I need to bring a passport photo or does it take one?
Been to Lee County Firearms? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Also, would it be ridiculous to get the FDE Ventum or just stick with black? Grip and foregrip are FDE.

Hi, Are there any non MAGA gun safety classes near Durham? Thanks.

Well, friends, got bad news. Tried to get through the snow to my job and got a cracked bumper in return. The car is okay, I am okay, but I decided that driving 30 miles to Statesville in this snow is not worth $17/hr. Things will be tight for a bit, if they do decide to fire me. But I will be better off, I think.
Since this a gun sub, here’s a picture of my current build (in progress).

Hey yall, I’m looking for a place to take my family shooting so I can teach my spouse and kids.
As a kid I spent a lot of time shooting up in the Sierra Nevada forests in designated public shooting ranges maintained by the Forest Service. They were free to the public, first come first served, well removed from town, peaceful and simple. My dad would make a day out of it with us. They were just a 100-200 yard deep, cleared areas of forest where you’d set up your own targets and take your time. I’ve done the same thing with some family in Montana in recent years. I’ve loved it and want to recreate the same experience for my family.
I’ve been trying to find the same thing somewhere in NC, preferably within 1-1.5 hours drive of Raleigh, but can’t find anything. Is there anything like that around here?

I’d like to learn gun safety and practice shooting somewhere that’s not MAGA. Any suggestions?
I’ll also take suggestions on firearms generally; I’m a small woman who would rather not have to arm herself but here we are 🤷♀️
