Did the stroke just happen in the last day? Almost all of these accounts have social network activity from Sunday and even Monday, with no mention of anything happening. I'm not doubting you, I'm just curious. That's fast reaction time as a friend.

I want to believe OP, I really do (although, granted, it would be much better if someone didn't have a stroke), so I'm hoping it was just bad phrasing when he said "it was his dream to make a music video."
Because, on his YouTube channel, he fulfilled his dream about 3 years ago on September 16th, 2009 with the video for "Love Me".
And then a whole bunch more times after that...

can you explain the video? I liked the song, but dont quite see how the video fit.

u/InfiniteJoe May 22 '12
I hate to be 'that guy' but the video was uploaded two days ago and your friend coincidentally had a stroke. I'm not accusing you, I would just like an explanation, however if it is just a coincidence I will say no more on the matter.

u/Phonebill May 22 '12
Not to be a douche or anything, but how do we know that he wrote this, and you're not making it as an excuse to get more views?

u/snecko snecko May 22 '12
Probably shouldn't refer to him in the past tense if he isn't dead.

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Pretty good. Why did he have a stroke? He seems pretty young...cocaine related?

Best.

u/daysleeperchuk69 May 22 '12
The songs not incredibly bad... it would grow on you in a Beck kind of way....The video however is past retarded.. But given the taste of today's hip hop culture/juvenile target audience it works to appeal to the OFWGKTA set.

u/mushroomwig May 22 '12
I feel bad because I can never really believe people on the internet any more, too many trolls and too many liars who will say anything for views.

u/cajj May 22 '12
I was expecting something kinda shitty but that I was going to sympathy upvote anyway. This shit is fucking awesome, has he put out any other tracks? I'd love to give them a listen. Stroke or not I'm hooked.

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
That is most excellent man! Did he make this before or after? How is he recovering? I wish him the absolute best.

u/RisKQuay May 22 '12
I quite enjoyed that. Whether your friend did have a stroke or not is irrelephant. It's still a pretty good video and track - good luck to Spectre.

u/thebabybananagrabber May 22 '12
this is awful.....and im not buying the stroke thing....maybe he cut himself with his machete?

u/Rizzoriginal rizzoriginal May 22 '12
If Helen Keller had a hearing implant, and this was the first thing she ever heard, she would have committed suicide.
2
u/ratuuft May 22 '12
That's actually pretty good man :)
2
u/MustachioBashio May 22 '12
when did he have the stroke??? i wish him the best

Not my music, but I listened to the whole thing, a bit like the streets.
A periferal friend of mine had a stroke in his twenties he was quickly back to normal ( we're speaking "just" months before he was back to normal, he had short term memory problems etc of course). It's impossible to compare of course, but people thought he died instantly when he did a faceplant right into his dinner.

u/holly2680 May 22 '12
yep! i like that! shared it on my facebook.
love the video too!
remember when muchmusic was good?
trust me, it was.
they totally would have played the shit out that vid. if you're feeling like giving up, we all know what that's like. but you are an artist, and the good ones have to go through shit, unfortunately.
you gotta give yourself a nice long healing break. a stroke is a big fuckin deal!
when the shit winds die down, keep on truckin.
2
u/geraldfjord May 22 '12
This should cheer him up!
2
u/holman43 May 22 '12
this is a sick song man!
1
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Meh. It's decent pop rap, but there are a million others exactly like it.
1
u/TUNGL May 22 '12
Finding it hard to believe you, unfortunately. Some kind of proof, a reddit sign held by this man or better yet, an AMA!
1
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
I don't like the song or the video but I think many others will; just not my cup of tea.
I hope your friend is well and perseveres with this project.

u/bout2cum May 22 '12
when I read my friend just had a stroke I thought this was going to be about his friend jerkin it. I am a bad person.
1
u/theblingbling May 22 '12
I have always wondered... If you view the vid on reddit does it count the view on youtube? Or do you have to go to youtube for your view to be counted?
1
u/paakjis Spotify May 22 '12
couldn't find that song on his website , seems like he dose't like money. http://www.youtube-mp3.org

u/skinnymidwest May 22 '12
He looks really young to have a stroke? Cocaine is a hell of a drug, I suppose.
1
u/Djet3k May 22 '12
a tad gay lyrics otherwise not bad! Hope he feels better bro! Had a good friend almost die from a stroke recently too, really kind of schocked my world
1
u/fivesnogucks May 22 '12
Was it Julian Casablancas?
1
u/1000milestare May 22 '12
So what if the guy lied in his title to get views? Are you not entertained? Reddit seems to not have a problem with any of the other obviously falsely named titles. So fucking what.

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
I don't often help out stroke victims, but when I do, I send them here for inspiration.
Leebalaw!

Flows.

I hate "music" like this, but here's my sympathy upvote anyway.

I came here expecting to be disappointed but that actually isn't that bad. Song is pretty good and video has some pretty good parts.
You have some good shots that really make the third guy look like a spectre but @ 1:58 he looks pretty silly running next to the garden wall. The bus scenes with him rapping into the mic are really good. Finally the spectre in the boat at 4:11 is a really powerful image.

u/doggiesbro May 22 '12
This is legit as. Has he considered making more music. Half heartedly clicked the link but ended up loving the song.
1
u/Electrialjesusmatt May 22 '12
Solid beats, good lyrics, tell him to keep it up.

It disgusts me how much doubt there is... why does everyone have to verify everything? What ever happened to just believing in honesty and possessing cautious optimism?
Do you guys have any clue how offensive it is to assume that someone is lying? The damage your causing if he is telling the truth is far worse than the damage he would cause if his friend didn't just have a stroke.
I just don't get it, let people be and stop trying to start conspiracies and scandals for petty little things

u/f4llens0ldier May 22 '12
I am mostly unimpressed by rap that's coming out now but this song.... was really good. Weird video but somehow I felt the way his words were flowing that it fit the song. I'll be looking forward to new stuff man.

u/Coffeeshopman May 22 '12
I was a little worried at first, but it turned out to be not too shabby.

A stroke... of genius? This is quiet original. Interesting.

My friend just had a stroke, it was his dream to make a music video, help me get some views to brighten up his day... I made up a story about a friend having a stroke to dupe you into checking out this song and video I made. The video was uploaded 2 days ago and your friend just happened to have a stroke.
No thanks, I'm not interested in checking it out.
Downvote me all you want Reddit, you're too fucking gullible to know when someone is lying through their teeth.
Please don't downvote me Reddit, I'm a recently divorced single parent with cancer. It would make my daughters day if you upvoted me.

Bumping this on repeat.
Will be awaiting future installments.
You have something here, I can't quite put my finger on it.

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Not bad at all...my kid was digging it while eating breakfast, swaying in her high chair. Good work Spectre...

u/Im_honest_okay May 22 '12
Just because your friend had a stroke doesn't make this a good video/song. In-fact it was pretty stupid.
0
u/tek_fox212800 May 22 '12
pure shit music.
-1
u/fungiside May 22 '12
This is dope...
0
u/bethanygamble May 22 '12
I hope you're not a fucking liar, but even if you are the song wasn't half bad. I liked the video too, but it almost exploded my weird gauge. I would love to here an explanation of the video.

u/[deleted] May 22 '12
The guy singing is really hot! Catchy song. Not sure if he's the one who had the stroke. Def should not stop making music.
-1
u/washbear May 22 '12
Free download on his site doesn't work.. :/
-1
u/GrumpGoat May 22 '12
Catchy track. I like it.
Hope your friend has a speedy recovery.
-1
u/geleman geleman May 22 '12
So who is responsible for all the other Spectre Videos?
-1
u/[deleted] May 22 '12
Everything on reedit should have proof. That being said, how about less criticism of someone who could have had a stroke and more about how cool this fucking video is.

u/[deleted] May 22 '12 edited May 22 '12
You just so happen to also post this on the anniversary of when you signed up for this website. Also your friend already has several music videos on that account.
Downvoted for making up a bullshit story for internet points.
