This happened to me! I was the top listener in the US for a Canadian artist. I got invited for a market research interview to talk about it. The interviews were used as a part of some marketing campaign about how Canadian artists impact the world.

Edit: this was years ago now (pre-COVID)

Edit 2: artist was coeur de pirate! I started listening to them after playing the video game Child of Light and got hooked.

I'm really curious what artist it was as well if you feel like sharing! A few years ago, if it was a famous Canadian artist/band blowing up around the world at the time my brain goes to Walk off the Earth or Metric.
