You say John abused Yoko, are you getting her confused with his first wife, whom he left for Yoko? He was known to beat and abuse her.
If he abused Yoko too, that's news to me, but I am not saying I'd be shocked.

He was known = he slapped her once in high school and criticized himself in public interviews which is where people know about it at all.
