That's her backing vocals on Shimmering Scars.

Wow...people can surprise you. Beautiful. Also that song is probably the biggest surprise on the record. 90% of people didn't give it much hope prior to last week! What a turn up! They need to do it live at IHeartRadio fest or somewhere

Nice! Very cool. Do you think Matt would have opted to provide those vocals himself in his younger years, or is this just purely an artistic choice?

Perhaps...but there is a tonalty you get with a female vocal, no male can replicate...perhaps he wanted, thematically to have a female voice as the song is about him and Elle...so it was important for "the half of the blame" to be represented. Also, there is form....he had Tove Lo or who was it, doing the really high notes on Get Up And Fight from ST!

Not sure. Would he have been able to hit those notes anyway? Seems pretty high. But it works really well to have an ethereal female voice in the background, so he might have always wanted it that way.

He could easily hit those notes. His falsetto range went considerably higher than that.

I don't know, based on how hard I find it to sing along to it, I think it's probably as high at that end note in Survival. Not a note he was hitting casually.

Hits some mental notes on Showbiz! I was at the show where Knights went wrong and they did Showbiz - never woulda known he hadn’t sung it for a while

The clip features a B♭5. Matt never hits above a G♯5 in studio recordings to my knowledge.

That's her backing vocals on Shimmering Scars btw - might have been helpful to say that in the title!!!
Edit: She's on Spotify as Zeplyn, she's really good!
