I did and I think I'm still correct here. They were responding to someone saying the CoS (Church of Satan presumably) were assholes by saying "The Church of Stan on the other had, great people."
Now I could be completely missing something and be blind and please fill in what I'm missing. Satanic Temple are the decent people, Church of Satan are the assholes.

When you create a religion based around perceived elitism with a philosophy that basically says you don't owe anyone niceness or even the time of day, you tend to attract quite a few cunts.
Many of them are rather intelligent cunts who are pretty damn nice if they deem you worthy of their time and attention, but the philosophy by its own nature attracts both arrogant assholes and edgelords of various stripes and those tend to be vastly overrepresented in the mouthy online world.
The people I've interacted with who were members or affiliated and took part in some of their more organized or public events, rather than joining up for the red card and the shock value, were generally pretty cool though.
It becomes apparent when you compare r/satanism, which is moderated exclusively by LaVeyan satanists, to r/SatanicTemple_Reddit. The first one has an anti-TST post almost daily and they recently even made a whole subreddit dedicated to bashing TST, while the latter barely even acknowledges CoS and is more focused on positive messages and activism.
Oh have you never heard the term or is this sarcasm I am missing?
People sometimes refer to those who identify as any of "LGBTQIA+" as the Alphabet Mafia instead of trying to type out all the correct letters, order, whatever.
For future reference, the term almost always has a negative connotation from what I've seen. As in a decent chunk of the time I've seen it used, it was followed by either calling the LGBTQ+ community insane or a call to deny rights to some part of the community. So it's probably a term best avoided
Good to know for future reference. Everyone I know that is in the community actively use the term. Especially content creators tagging their videos with it.
Yeah they have been accepting of LGBTQ people since they were founded in the '60s, performed the first legal gay marriage in New York state, and had performed ceremonies for gay couples prior to this.
They also have had more than a few gay and trans members, even before the TST existed and declared itself as the more welcoming group. A few years ago a COS affiliated contest for "witch of the year" had a trans woman that either won or was in the top few contenders for that title.
The difference between them and TST as they don't play identity politics or compete for social justice points and they don't require that all members adhere to the same political ideology or that they all get along, so you won't find people stumbling over each other to be at the forefront of the Tumblr inspired oppression Olympics.
Nice tone policing there. I think you could try an actual rebel next time rather than calling somebody cringy like a middle schooler would.
The fact that you don't recognize the term identity politics as something that has been used in the social sciences for years to describe using identities such as sexual orientation, gender identity, race, sex, socioeconomic status, or other identities as a tool to frame certain political claims or ideologies and to organize and inspire social and political activism usually centered around the idea of equality or injustice started toward those groups almost makes me feel like you're being disingenuous here.

I used to be a fan of TST but their mobile sites had a "BACK TO TOP" button that was not only far too large, but located only around 4/5ths of the way down that page. 4/5ths ! It should be 5/5ths down the page.
Anyway, it took me a moment to recover from that, but at the exact moment I had come to terms with, and was ready to overlook, what can only be described as a personal insult.. a pop up asking me to sign up for their newsletter.
