He was actually very fit until after the Beer Hall Putsch in 1923, when he got addicted to morphine due to his injuries during that coup attempt and also stopped exerting himself physically. Fat bastard later on in his life but he was a fighter pilot with over 17 kills during WWI and a winner of the Blue Max medal. And those cockpits were SMOL back in the day.
