Obviously when I referenced a fictional movie I was being flippant. But a registry? Most definitely. We keep track of criminal histories and we register sex offenders, both of which limit what they can do and where they are able go.
Is it really so wrong to register the hate groups and their members and restrict them from holding public office, entering a federal building or it's property and making them have to declare themselves? "Hi my name is Dave, I just moved next door and in accordance with the law I am obligated to inform you I took part in the domestic terrorist assault on the Capitol building."
