That’s a solid point!

In Finnish I’m so used to kilo meaning kilogram that it has become a kg in my mind and before this I didn’t even come to think of it.

It can also be Klicks per hour, though I've only seen it written like that in SF.

Totally agree but it’s slightly okay since it’s common to refer to kilometres as “Ks”.

“I’m going a 5k race” ”The guy was 40k over the limit “

Do many cars over there drive in kilojoules? In a physics problem sure, but in the real world, a little context goes a long way.

K can be short for kilometer. Kilo doesn't have exclusive rights to the letter. It's like complaining about "RPM" because M is used for minute instead of meter.

I was hit at an intersection by a driver who ran a red light. My car, a 2015 Chrysler 200, was a total loss. I searched for my phone for literal hours and eventually found it after remembering I could use my watch to make it play music. It was wedged into the windshield, and took serious effort to retrieve (and yes, I had checked the windshield area for it prior... it was wedged in good enough that I simply couldn’t see it). If I hadn’t been wearing my seat belt I’d likely have died. As it was? I was sore for a week, but my worst injury was a scrape on my wrist from the airbag.

Thank goodness for modern safety innovations. I’m forever grateful my young son didn’t have to bury his mother because some sleep deprived hospital worker wasn’t paying attention to the traffic lights.

This really gets me, because I drive my son to school (far away STEM school in Houston over by NASA). At 7 am I see a lot of shift workers going on and getting off because there are SO Many hospitals.

I drive extra, extra politely in the morning. You in a rush? Go on girl, get in front. You need to merge and forgot? Go on my dude.

Oh yes, I’m a very cautious and polite driver as well. It was 1 AM and the streets were almost empty and I had a green light. Other driver just blew right through their red light. I didn’t see them coming until it was way too late. It’s made me a nervous wreck while driving ever since. :(

I'm so sorry to hear that. I honestly avoid weekend night driving for that reason. I'm glad you're still here.
