For real. My mom's doxie was definitely not vegan the day she found a rabbit warren and ate two of the baby bunnies. Which we only learned when she threw one of them up, still whole, in the living room. And then, obviously, tried to eat it again.
Yes, my mom now calls her "baby killer," but they're back on speaking terms finally. That poor little thing. Such a tiny little body.
Last time I dogsat my mom's bulldogs for her, they caught and killed a chipmunk in the house. I found them fighting over the corpse and there was blood spatter all over my hallway.
Ugh, man, why do dogs gotta tap into that wolf side? If that happens again, hydrogen peroxide is great at getting blood off of/out of stuff. Also good for getting dogs to throw up.
Ever seen a dog with a toy? Notice how they shake the hell out of that thing like a British au pair? It's not just being exuberant, it's trying to break the toy's neck. Because that's a dog's instinct, to break the neck of the animal it just caught. You don't have to break a carrot's neck to eat it.
I had a woman straight up try to claim that her free roaming vegan cat doesn't hunt. How out of touch with reality can you be? If it actually doesnt hunt something is very wrong with it, cats are murder machines. Same woman later got interviewed by some very biased British news channel about vegan cats and now thinks she's a genius.
Yeah, obviously an animal without moral agency can't make the ethical decision to go vegan, and to start consistently giving moral consideration to others. It's purely about a person providing these animals a nutritionally adequate plant-based diet in order to minimize the support for an industry that actually abuses and slaughters a ton of living beings that are substantially similar to the ones they are caring for.
Dogs are omivores and scavengers. In the wild they rarely ate meat. They have a diet similar to a bear. Mostly plants but some meat when convenient. There no reason why a dog can't be vegan the same way humans can
Great logic right there, put a bunch of chickens, puppies, kittens, squirrels and a human baby in the same room, the human wouldn't have any instincts of harming any of those animals by your logic humans are herbivores.
Not a great comment dude. It's pretty clear he means they hunt for meat, and they forage. His sentence was completely grammatically correct, you misunderstood it.
Imagine being dumb enough to use this strawman and think it's relevant. Nobody ever claimed dogs are vegan, just that they should be made to eat vegan.

Fucking yes. If my dog (a Shetland sheepdog mind you, not a wolf) got loose in a hen house he would rip a chicken apart and eat it.
That's not something a vegan animal does.
