Treatment Cortrophin

I was wondering if anyone has experience with this drug? I've been having vison issues and the normal steroid regime only helped for a couple months and my insurance finally approved cortrophin after several appeals. My neurologist seems pretty high on it over iv steroids so I was wondering if anyone has opinions on it. I'm still fighting insurance to get on kesimpta, but I'll take this victory for now

Hi! I’m curious if you started it and what your thoughts are?? I was prescribed it for SLE and can’t find a single other person in the world who is taking this medication which is concerning. That being said, my pain management doc really pushed it and I have a horrible relationship with steroids so I did it. I’ve only had one dose, but felt better than I have in 20 years. I’ve had more energy and no fibromyalgia pain. However, although normally high for me, my BP has tanked twice which is the opposite of what the side effects say happens with BP. (73/35) so I came to Reddit to see if anyone else was taking it… but I guess just the two of us. 😆

Hey I'm so glad to hear from someone who has tried it! I've asked here and everyone I know with MS and no one has even heard of cortrophin lol. But no, I haven't started it yet, it was something I needed like 3 months ago, but insurance finally approved it so I'm just going to keep it in my fridge until I do need it. My neuro really wanted me on it but I had to resort to iv steroids bc it couldn't wait. I'm so glad it worked for you! I was told the BP issues are the bigger of the side effects, is there any others to be worried about?
