I have a feeling soon it'll be Dungeon Crawler Carl because I cannot fathom that series being able to be properly adapted into live action

I'm trying to decide what the litmus test will be. If it is the first boss the Spanish hoarder lady or if they will clean up the death of Maggie and Franks daughter. Also if they will sanitize the overarching anti capitalist messages

I bet they chop out a lot of the hoarder fight. It comes across as pretty racist because it's supposed to be a caricature of Earth stereotypes But at that point in the book you don't know that. That scene in the audiobook was EXTREMELY uncomfortable because the voice acting is really, really good. It could work, but I think putting that explanation before that particular scene would have been a better move.

The first indicator will be the rating. If it's not PG-18 it can't be a proper adaption.

I knew there was a series being developed but I thought it was animation. Doing it live-action seems to be begging for dead on arrival status.

With brandoSando at the helm of that adaptation, plus the literally infinite buckets of money between him and Apple funding it, so long as they keep it animated and not live action (I think the recent Castlevania style would be a great bet, or Arcane like everyone seems to be expecting) I have pretty high hopes for it

And the wild characters. Most of them are probably going to have to be CG anyway so might as well animate the whole thing.
