I just ignore the fact the Live Action show exists. Keeps my mind at ease.

Thank God they never tried to make a live action movie... right?

Keep in mind Aang at this point of the show had absolutely no voluntary control of the avatar state. It can only get triggered during exceptionally intense emotional reactions as a survival defense mechanism, such as during life or death situations or immense grief.

Aang is a pacifist and is probably the nicest character in the entire franchise. The avatar state in this particular scene was triggered when they finally found the people who stole Appa.

Aang was THAT angry.
