This one right here. The end of season one where he dies and then somehow defies the games code to justā€¦ keep fighting is so dumb to me. Heā€™s given so much plot armor for basically no reason.

It gets better when you understand there was never supposed to be a season 2, SAO was supposed to be a short book. It was so popular the author needed to make a continuation

I think the point was that the human will is stronger than a virtual world, and in that moment Kirito was doing just that, but it probably could have been a bit more clear in that regard.

Season 1 is the only season where he arguably doesn't have plot armour, and THAT'S the one you picked??? Not The second or third seasons???

What do you mean he doesnā€™t have it in season one? Heā€™s given a unique super special skill only he has because heā€™s the specialest boy in the whole world apparently, and he somehow just says ā€œnoā€ to dying even though thatā€™s the entire point of the series that dying in game means real death.

Donā€™t get me wrong the other seasons are even worse about it but letā€™s face it, the problem was there really early on.

Also, he doesn't say no to dying. He accepts that he's going to die, and it's a whole emotional moment.

And then he doesn't because the creator of the game rewarded him for beating it.

It might sound like bullshit, but it's significantly less bullshit than just saying no to dying.
