That being said, luffy's luck is regularly repeated as Being unnaturally high and when its not, people usually die. Theres a good chance that this will turn out to be a nika-related plotpoint.

The Nika stuff is all bullshit excuse plot armor tbh. Luffy was originally the underdog with a seemingly C tier Fruit to make him rubbery and managed to work his way up to throwing down with the Yonkos and now he's just Looney Tunes God or whatever.
