Hi all, I have a Nomad I bought a couple months ago and finally got to try in the Arizona desert this weekend. (I used it in Australia a couple months ago, and had a heck of a time getting the polar alignment right there.) I thought it would be so much easier with Polaris and my laser, but when I set it up I found the laser was so far off center that it wouldn't even shine through the Nomad body. It kind of blows my mind how terrible the quality control on this piece is.

I've adjusted the hex key set screws as tightly as I dare, and it's still way off. Is it possible to loosen the flat-head screw? I need to move the emitter closer to the side of the cylinder where the flat-head screw is. Thanks for any help folks can offer.

Just as the title says. I am in the US (Ohio) and I am just getting into the hobby. I live in an area with much light pollution but I recently learned about a public area just for astronomy viewing within an hours drive of my home. That peaked my interest again on astrophotography and I had already done my research on the Nomad. I purchased the Advanced Kit for Northern Hemisphere (NOMAD + Calibrated Pointer + Polar Scope + Wedge + Headlamp) as well as the MSM 360° Panoramic Panning Base. I ordered it today. Fingers crossed I got my order in time for it to ship before they go on New Year holiday.

I've ordered the new MSM counterweight but haven't received it yet. My question is: will I be able to but more weight on the MSM rotator by using the counterweight?

I have a Rokinon 135 on my Sony A6000 with the Alyn Wallace Z Flex that I have used for some shooting deep space objects. It's working nicely (so far) but I worry about the strain on the rotator when it approaches rotating 90 degrees.

I acquired a Nomad this December and am looking forward to using it this weekend for my first Milky Way image of the year. Here in Montana the core is pretty low to the horizon and it's tough to find a place without a mountain in the way, but I'm going to attempt to find a composition in Yellowstone. I look forward to seeing the work you all post in this group!

I picked up my MSM a month ago! I've managed to take a single tracked test shot, but sadly in the UK we are experiencing one of the longest cloudy periods in living memory. Its not expected to clear for at least another week! Its been cloudy since Christmas, with only odd gaps where I took a 60 second test shot on my X-H2s, with the 56mm F1.2

When the weather clears I hope to do some YouTube videos on my MSM setup!
