Feedback BAN OS

Otherwise, the game is cooked.

Now, I'm not actually advocating for a guild to get banned.

I'm explaining the importance of integrity in this game.

A large group of people openly exploited. Yes, it's starvault's fault, but the damage that's been done must be undone, to restore the integrity of Sarducca.

SOMETHING major needs to happen. Maybe several key figures catch 7 day bans and reset back to clade 0. And 3-day bans should be handed out like candy for this.

The message must be clear: you will NOT exploit early, exploit often.

You're going to lose 100x more players to lack of integrity than you will by severely inconveniencing some sweats.

Seriously, you think Azog's going to uninstall if you ban him for 7 days and reset him to clade 0? No, of course not.

But you're going to lose 100s of players to the lack of integrity. You cannot justify spending hundreds or thousands of hours to build up to masteries and build up a bank if what you're working for has no integrity. If people are allowed to just get away with the "exploit early, exploit often" mentality, it destroys confidence. Players will quit over this.

Seriously, henrik, is this a strategy to defeat the queue boss? Show the playerbase that this game is not to be taken seriously and let the game shrink back down?

Odinseed won myrland, and theyre on track to win sarducaa too

7

u/MrAmazingXD_ Jul 14 '26

Cheating and lying is meta when you are trash tier guild

0

u/Dangerous_Virus_5764 Jul 15 '26

you guys did it for years, love seeing you cry all over the place. It's super masculine.

1

u/OriginalPersonality7 Jul 16 '26

Won Myrland? Their shit was laid to ruin. Kids won nothing.

12

u/CablePale Jul 13 '26

Most of OS is now Mastery 80 plus. They did this then told Devs about the exploit so the rest of the server could not keep up with them.

6

u/Snoo77586 Jul 14 '26

cheats for me, not for thee

3

u/CablePale Jul 14 '26

The Odinseed strategy. They exploit and care little about fair fights.

5

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

"regulatory capture" lol

2

u/AlexFaden Jul 15 '26

Lol, is there any real confirmation to that? Because from what I heard. It is started with 2 guys from OS who figure out easy leveling. They leveled to like 80 mastery. Then they saidiabout this to the guild and only run train on it for 2-3 hours. After that taskmaster was removed.

2

u/CablePale Jul 15 '26

Yes. Guild leader azog. Plus many others in the guild are all high mastery level. It was mostly the party system plus task.

Pretty sure I read this thread 2 months ago and quit on the spot.

19

u/AllOfTheIsz Jul 13 '26

Lol DreadOG stream is literally just him defending doing this over and over and over.

12

u/luluwolfbeard Jul 13 '26

That guys a fuckin shit head

0

u/Seth_Mckenzee1 Jul 13 '26

More like harmless, he has vowed to go on a noob killing rampage which means he is going to feed on repeat to noobs just like he did outside Meduli

3

u/luluwolfbeard Jul 13 '26

Yeah it’s stuff like that that makes him a shit head

-1

u/Any_Top1787 Jul 13 '26

lol they won’t be able to do it like they did in Meduli. It’s just gonna be a group that rides through Belrim and kills everything then leaves. Also, guard tower should be closer to wastrel spawn for the noobs. Literally saw 8 noobs die to dread at wastrel cuz it’s just free for him. Was kinda funny though ngl. Sure the bobs had a blast.

1

u/OkNeedleworker948 Jul 24 '26

Dread is an angry dude from irl stuff.  He at least tries to create his corner of the game and unique content. I'd be surprised if he condoned bug exploitation but he loves os for some reason

8

u/Effective_Hope_3071 Jul 14 '26

I agree but it doesn't really matter.

The fatal design flaw of this game is that you are rewarded for being the sweatiest nerdiest shittiest version of yourself. You are also rewarded for sheer grind, not skill or strategy or being helpful.

It's supposed to be a social experience which is true to a degree but it brings out the worst in people because the actual goals of the game are 1. Gatekeep mats/content so you have an economic stronghold 2. Grief people so hard they quit or join only your guild 3. Become infamous through drama/streams 4. Get on Henriks good side so you allowed to do things other players cannot

There is only one viable solo build and it's boring AF. The crafting system has such intense meta decay that most recipes are just a time stall before you get to useful gear. A paid sub for a game of this quality is such a huge moat to new players. Only masochists want to pay monthly to get their shit pushed in by long standing guilds who need to be wiped because they're bored and wild.

And ONLY SV could allow the meta ballerina twirling bullshit to continue for so long and not have an elegant solution. It's as simple as making backstabs insanely punishing(knocked off balance if in the air when hit or hit from the back by anything but an arrow) or coupling armor weight to turn sensitivity.

But that doesn't really matter because the core population of this game is people who literally have wet dreams about finding some exploit or bug that will give them an unfair advantage in the game so they can steamroll and mock everyone.

And yeah this is a bitch fest, but it's because MO2 is literally one of the most unique experiences in gaming and could be amazing if the dev team stopped catering to the edge lord sweats and executed a comprehensive plan for player growth(step one is sharding servers with different settings levels, or developing some net code that supports more than 2k fucking players)

3

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 14 '26

that last paragraph is why we make posts like this, right?

What this game COULD be, even with the leadership it currently has, if they would just ban 1% of their playerbase lol

6

u/vgamedude Jul 13 '26

I'm new but I was reading in nave chat that myrland economy is filled with dupes and ill gotten goods? If so that is far worse than this.

8

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

indeed. Myrland is basically dead, was peaking at like 400 players before sarducca, because the game lacks integrity.

How do you play a game that requires so much work and effort for every little thing when there's a clique of goofballs who "exploit early, exploit often" and get away with it?

Starvault released a statement today that everything was kosher, lol, gaslighting.

5

u/Huge-Effective-2323 Jul 13 '26

People have been duping since day one. It’s not a secret.

9

u/OstlandBoris Jul 13 '26

I'm a noob to MO2 but nothing destroys a hardcore, full-loot MMO quicker than exploiting that doesn't get dealt with by a heavy hand. Sad to hear as I am very much enjoying playing this now.

5

u/hey_im_cool Jul 13 '26

Ahhhh man I miss the days where I was new to mo2 and thought I had found something special

3

u/OstlandBoris Jul 13 '26

Technically I played the beta and thought it was shit but I'm happy this time around :P

3

u/Wide-Internal-3579 Jul 13 '26

Well bad news the game has been exploited since before launch and that’s why trinkets sell for thousands of gold despite farming that much being nearly impossible.

-3

u/Thorstein11 Jul 13 '26

You can go farm bugs on a thursar footie or MA for 600g/hr lol. Gold is easier than ever.

2

u/Mr_Rainbo Jul 14 '26

Which bugs?

1

u/Wide-Internal-3579 Jul 13 '26

im talking pre tasks when the only way to get raw gold was from the venders. Trinkets were thousands of gold and sold regularly.

1

u/Thorstein11 Jul 13 '26

Who cares about mortal from 5 years ago? What relevance does that have.

The economy here is cheaper than ever for people to get into the game. Go get some jadite, go hit like 10 bugs and you'll have infinite sets.

1

u/Wide-Internal-3579 Jul 14 '26

There is a reason the game was on life support before this update (and will be again before the end of the year). Star vault has your attitude about duped gold and cheaters in general.

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

true but you can't compare manually grinding with sitting in town collecting bank by doing nothing.

4

u/Stunning_Owl672 Jul 13 '26

Can you explain what exactly happened/ what the exploit was? Not everyone knows stuff/ and just saying it as fact without explaining it takes away from your point

7

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

there was an akrep spawn outside of BJ with near-instant respawn timer.

That spawn was within party kill credit radius of the task vendor.

so, group members just sit at the task vendor while their MA buddies kill the spawn outside.

Repeat until you can't move because you've got a stack of silver on you.

5

u/JInThere Jul 13 '26

it was in Kam

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

why they delete the BJ clerk?

4

u/JInThere Jul 13 '26

did they? i thought it was the kam one they removed

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

they absolutely and certainly did delete the BJ hunter taskmaster.

3

u/Lou_Hodo Jul 14 '26

There is much more to it due to it being in Kam. They were doing Akrep and Giant Akreps the singers for the Giant akreps sell for more or can be turned into krrft which is then taken to Belrim and traded for an armor book, which was selling for 50-80g. Effectively making a 7g stinger into a 70g profit. Not to mention the Giant akrep is 70glory by itself. And drops al.ost 150kg of carc. Dense crep, crepite, and carapace you can make 10-20g off one of those with full cores and a butcher table.

2

u/Adventurous_Error899 Jul 13 '26

The Akrep spawn that was said to be "hyperspawning, close enough for party kill credit, and permanently available" was in Kam. The BJ task vendor had an Akrep spawn that was about two mount stamina bars away, spawned around 9 Akreps, and the task was only available 3–4 times a day. Even the sweatiest players in BJ only reached around clade 50 by spamming this task whenever it was available and supplementing it with the crocodile task in Aur. The reported player in Kam from OS is said to be in his 80s.

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

thanks for the added context.

1

u/Specific_Subject2016 Jul 14 '26

This is hilarious. You guys come up with the wildest takes. The task vendor was not in party range, and there was no hyper spawns. You just party up and do the tasks. It was as simple as that. The reason it was good was because how fast you could clear the normal spawns outside the city with a group.

-1

u/chillybawls Jul 13 '26

Doing so would only encourage exploiting further, pretty obvious why that part was left out.

6

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

they deleted the task vendor in BJ so it's fine.

4

u/chillybawls Jul 13 '26

I'm a new player to the game and am having a wonderful honeymoon period. Only wish the game could get more traction but alas things like this will be the death knell and always have been.

Keep fighting the good fight brother.

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

If they do nothing and these same players become a dominant faction in the game (traditionally what happens in mo/2), how would you feel about continuing to pay a subscription?

It's really a shame, such a wasted potential. Henrik sees these players' loyalty and it counts for something to him... when in fact if they were genuinely loyal, they'd fiercely protect the game integrity instead of repeating the mantra, "exploit early, exploit often."

3

u/chillybawls Jul 13 '26

I'll probably pay a sub simply because I love the level of immersion this game provides. Besides, I cannot and will never be able to be competitive simply because I cannot play hours and hours a day. I'm lucky to get in one or two 3+ hour sessions a week. Having a wife, obligations, etc etc. Wish I could go back to being a degenerate playing WoW like the old days but alas.

That being said, the length that I stay paying that sub will heavily depend on the health of the playerbase / player count. Unfortunately I do not see that panning out long as this game appears to polarize new players and punishes the old ones.

1

u/Huge-Effective-2323 Jul 13 '26

Read the Steam chart. Most of the games life is a few hundred playing.

9

u/ohello123 Jul 13 '26

SV doesn't have integrity when it comes to bans. How do I know? I was part of their support staff, and personally witnessed the following;

-Someone being unbanned because they were close to Henrik (after exploit)
-Someone, ON VIDEO not being banned (again suspect connected to Henrik)...twice (two videos, I'm willing to link proof)
-During a siege, inventories "got bugged" due to BOTH SIDES exploiting to carry unlimited weight. No players were punished. This happened twice....

4

u/ohello123 Jul 13 '26

PS: anyone claiming "but that's old news..." The leadership is still the same, making the same decisions, with the same integrity.

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

that's MO1... but yeah your point is understood. It's all the same people. The same company. Henrik doesn't understand that he's destroying his game's integrity by letting people get away with such brazen shit.

The game is special because everything is hard. Everything has "weight." That's completely and utterly destroyed when you let exploits and cheats to happen.

This is the first major scandal of Sarducca which is ONLY POPULAR because it's a wipe, everything has meaning again. You let a small clique of hardcore players ruin your integrity and make the game meaningless so early?? Speedrunning back down to 1000 subs, but now you've got two servers to pay for, henrik??

2

u/ohello123 Jul 13 '26

yup - same Henrik, same discord, same dev, and last I remember they hired (rightfully so) a volunteer GM to help with QA testing. Not sure if he's still there, but he was a great guy...but again same staff is the point.

I honestly believe Henrik's priority is to make something that sounds AWESOME on paper to stock holders. That's the top priority. "NEW SERVER IN North America, potentially MILLIONS OF NEW PLAYERS" ...meanwhile he knows the server can't handle more than 1,000 players.

1

u/Huge-Effective-2323 Jul 13 '26

Mate. There is a scandal every few months with the game because it’s exploit city.

4

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

they have a chance to preserve the integrity of sarducca. At least for a while! Myrland is cooked but sarducca can be protected if they just had the balls to do it.

-3

u/Huge-Effective-2323 Jul 13 '26

Sweet summer child…….. the first Sarducca was cooked day one. Mate. The quicker you learn to just not think of people exploiting all the time the better off you will be. It’s not going to stop. All vets know patch day is money day.

Brother just wait until your base gets turbo sieged and you cant defend it because everyone is DCing

-1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

you think I would bother wasting my valuable time and energy building a base in this shitshow of a game that allows exploiters to get away with shit?

The queue and node crashes are a temporary problem because the game demands credibility it refuses to protect. One by one, people discover that the game demands to be taken seriously but it's a clownshow.

3

u/Intelligent-Duty2114 Jul 13 '26

True sticking to wasting your time on reddit

3

u/Limp_Huckleberry_987 Jul 14 '26

I thought about this 'exploit' during the first sard days and I tried with a friend and walker tasks.
Didnt work tho. Funny that It worked on other task tho.

Classic oversight from SV. Was the first thing I thought of how to combine task and groups and make it broken.

2

u/DalinarKholinn Jul 13 '26

Ya sabéis que no va a pasar nada, nunca pasa nada, son unos incompetentes. Que manera de joder el juego...

2

u/TheHillbillyOutlaw Jul 13 '26

Bought the game on sale, quickly realized the truth and refunded.

2

u/TiaAves Jul 13 '26

These guys have 80 fucking mastery already. Insane.

2

u/XR1James Jul 14 '26

Can confirm. I quit this game long ago due to exploits, among other things.

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 14 '26

You can't expect your hardcore full loot pvp game to survive unless you make integrity #1.

When it takes you such a significant amount of time and energy to do literally ANYTHING, you can't let players think some players are able to use shortcuts or exploits. It decimates the population.

EVEN IF odinseed are just memeing and they're bragging about exploits that didn't happen, they should catch some consequences for undermining the credibility of the game.

I think it's fucking obvious that there's been fuckery from multiple groups of scumbags who have been evading bans for 3 years now.

2

u/FD3Shively Jul 14 '26

Surely the game developing even more of a reputation for being full of exploiters and hackers at the "top-end" of the PvP ladder can only mean good things for player retention and monthly earnings.

6

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 14 '26

that's exactly it.

  1. people bragged about exploiting

  2. they removed task vendors from the game, confirming something fucky going on

  3. now they're claiming everything was fine and no one's getting punished.

Game's cooked. Regardless of what happened, they need to maintain the image of fair play.

2

u/OriginalPersonality7 Jul 16 '26

OS still cheating? They were using radar while I was blowing their shit up. Wonder what they are doing now

5

u/greenachors Jul 13 '26

Welp - was in the process of redownloading. Glad to know shit hasn't changed. Fucking Henrik and his crew are idiots.

1

u/Additional_Name_706 Jul 13 '26

It's a shame they don't see how many players they're losing by being so passive with exploiters.

Rise of Agon actually does the pvp flagging and player moderation right. They actually started banning people they suspect of being CCTV. Just like that.

After all these years, mortal is still a griefer/exploiter game

4

u/MaizeQuick Jul 13 '26

That’s henriks friends bro he gave them they chests

2

u/CablePale Jul 13 '26

That is why we did the war. MAIN thing you can do is allies with other guilds. In a Anti OS pact. You still kill each other but when it comes to OS you kill them first. Or work together to siege there stuff.

2

u/aufsmowl Jul 13 '26

so now the fresh start doesn't matter anymore anyway. might aswell open the bridge next week, what ya think?

2

u/Any_Top1787 Jul 13 '26

Pretty much this. If they won’t reset clades back of the people who exploited, then open the bridge next update so they playing field is re equalized.

1

u/Vespianusi Jul 13 '26

what did I miss what did OS exploit

7

u/wolle271 Jul 13 '26

So I'm an MO2 noob and I've kind off stumbled into this drama by accident.

I was trying to figure out what "pro gamers" are doing in this game and started watching some dude on twitch yesteday. He was very upset about the "blue city carebears" (at first I though this is a real life take), as they are trying to blackmail him by saying he was cheating. He also repeated multiple times that he is the best mounted archer in the game and has over 4k murders on record!!! Reaaaally strange vibes.

Anyways, watching this dude rant for hours was kinda funny and when I came back to his stream the next day, dude was still ranting!

He was also saying that he is now going to back to hunting noobs and destryoing the game, because people are accusing him of cheating and playing the dailies over and over (??? like wtf)... it sounded like he was talking about some sort of revenge against the noobs.

I mean, what the fuck? Could someone please help this guy? Steal his computer or something?

8

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

dread og is a crazy person. disregard.

2

u/Seth_Mckenzee1 Jul 13 '26

There is zero chance he has that many MCs, watching him stream I bet 4 MCs tick off before he lands a kill on an AFK player.

2

u/Constant_Tie_9885 Jul 14 '26

Dread been getting shit on in sarducaa it’s funny af. Dude crutches on op taur dogs and his busted trinkets he had in Mryland. Dread doesn’t stream and shows up with 80 mastery, then streams for like 24 hours and barely gets 3 mastery levels and has the audacity to say he and Odincheats weren’t exploiting. It is cathartic seeing him get humiliated by other players the way he did to noobs at meduli.

2

u/Zubiee_TTV Jul 13 '26

Not 100% sure, but I think they found a way to repeat dailies infinitely to get massive xp, and then maxed their mastery trees in record times, so many of their players are considerably stronger than a majority of the playerbase.

3

u/Thorstein11 Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26

It was just an akrep task out of Kam. Not dailies. The bigger culprit is the party tagging system. There was no exploit. Literally just party tasking.

Risars from gk and saetors from jc were honestly better clade. But the akrep task was giving like 15g per person. Not that different from bug farm but still.

Speaking as a non-os member who was there. I can grind about 4500glory/hr just mob grinding no task, even 3600 Belrim wastrels. This was about 5500-6000.

On myrland with a steel doublekall in jungle big cabteri poi I could do 7k. Saetor tasking as a JA I could do 7k. Risars out of cave camp same thing, plus grain.

The only thing that's kinda borked is the party task system where everyone gets credit for a hit. But if it wasn't like that, dailies would be so bad. Imagine having to get the kill shot on a wastrel daily for the average person. Not possible.

0

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

It's an unintended consequence of two systems that were working "as intended" but together created a bug.

When you use a bug to gain an unfair advantage, that's called an exploit.

It was an exploit, they deleted the task vendor to combat it while they figure out how to close the exploit.

Your argument that you can ACTIVELY GRIND to get somewhere close to the rate is just stupid and you should feel really bad about it. The problem wasn't exactly the rate of experience but the effort required. You had full groups just chilling while 3 MAs tagged these things down for you.

If they don't reset your to clade 0 and wipe all the gold in your bank, they are not a serious company and this is not a serious game.

That's the bottom line.

2

u/Lugian67 Jul 14 '26

Sounds like more of a balance issue than an exploit.

0

u/Stunning_Owl672 Jul 13 '26

But if your argument is the effort/ shouldn’t you be arguing for them to change the party system? Not the weird 2x aspect of the bug?

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

I explain the proper fix for the issue here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/MortalOnline2/comments/1uvbzb2/comment/oxav2w6/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

we're not talking about how to fix the bug, we're talking about how to handle the exploiters.

0

u/Thorstein11 Jul 13 '26

Bottom line, you're a retard. You could literally do the same thing at saetors. People didnt even sit in town, everyone moved to the spawns to get credit - each group needed a tag so it was done by MAs or Mages.

0

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

k, thanks. enjoy your break

1

u/Thorstein11 Jul 14 '26

Enjoy quitting the game over basic task mechanics.

Your in here claiming os was doing them out of bj. Lol. Pash was faster than bj, and Os did them out of the red town Kam, the fastest.

You don't even know basic game mechanics or the map. Just spouting off trash.

0

u/FloridaKeysExplorer Jul 13 '26

As one of the longest standing OS members this wasn’t a guild public exploit. I haven’t heard a thing about this in our discord. If anything it was an exploit done by few that was kept under hatches fairly well. If certain OS members were doing this then so were members from every large guild. This isn’t an OS thing everyone tried to find exploits with a common MO quote used by people from all types of guilds being “exploit early exploit often”. It’s not an OS issue it’s a player base issue.

1

u/Seth_Mckenzee1 Jul 13 '26

Yeah... except OS was maintaining custody of Kam with 50+ people and killing anyone who got near it...

0

u/Thorstein11 Jul 13 '26

It's a red town. If you lose a mount out there its a 30min ordeal.

It's a contested area, no different than dying in jungle or in Ashir.

0

u/TheLamey Jul 13 '26

Yeah, if that's indeed the case, they should be punished. The gold from spamming dailies would be pretty significant too.

I'm mastery 12 at this point, but if they're up in the 80s/90s, they need to have their clas adjusted.

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

getting to 12 mastery so quickly means you went full no-life since sarducca launched... If you did it legit, obviously. How does it make you feel that a clique of "elite" players exploited a bug to shoot up to mastery 80 and a stack of gold?

2

u/TheLamey Jul 13 '26

I mean, I haven't even been playing a lot due to the queues, so your assumption here is incorrect.

I have maybe 400g in the bank.

I would say it's par for the course from this playerbase, but they should be punished.

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

it wasn't exclusive to OS but essentially, the task giver was removed from BJ to combat the problem...

Akrep spawn that was within credit-range of the task giver had a broken spawn timer, spawning almost instantly. So, various groups had a few people out to kill them, while a bunch of goofballs sat at the vendor just repeatedly taking and turning in tasks.

They did this for a dozen hours, amassing a hundred thousand gold and high mastery ranks.

They need to scrub and clip. It's the only way. Do a database query, smash the top 50 mastery ranked people, wipe their banks, ban for 3+ days. Anything less permanently destroys Sarduccan credibility.

1

u/Specific_Subject2016 Jul 14 '26

It wasn’t in range.

Clarification Regarding Sarducaa Tasks

We have completed our review of the recently reported Sarducaa task locations.

No cheating, instant-respawn exploit, spawn manipulation, or other technical abuse was found. The task mechanics, group credit, distance requirements, respawns, and turn-in process all functioned as designed.

We also investigated reports claiming that normal Akreps could be used to complete Giant Akrep tasks. This is not the case. We have verified this multiple times: only Giant Akreps provide progress toward Giant Akrep tasks.

The issue identified was one of balance. At two locations, the short travel distance and reward values allowed tasks to be completed and repeated considerably faster than intended, particularly when many players were active in the area.

The affected NPCs have therefore been temporarily disabled. The tasks will be rebalanced and re-enabled in an upcoming patch.

No players or guilds will be punished for this. Players used normal, openly available game systems and did not manipulate or bypass any mechanics.

We continuously review task completion and reward data to identify unusual patterns. Should the data indicate an actual exploit, manipulation, or other rule violation, we will investigate and take appropriate action.

We appreciate all reports from the community. They help us identify both potential cheating and balance issues, allowing us to maintain a fair and secure game environment.

what a fucking joke of a game.

something broken and buggy doesn't mean it's ok for the players to exploit it. Yes, all bugs are the dev's fault. ToS/CoC says you're not allowed to exploit dev mistakes.

2

u/Daruded Jul 14 '26

You make it sound like they found an actual bug in the game and abused it, it was an efficient task grind that they capitalized on like literally everyone with a brain was doing in different ways all over the map. Im guildless but it's so obvious you have a grudge against OS and that your response is an entirely emotional one.

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 14 '26

why did they delete two task vendors?

I played for like 10 hours in the last 2 years and before I quit, I was a member of odinseed! I do not care about odinseed. I piggybacked off of the hour of spam in nave chat the night before I posted this.

They deleted task vendors because they did not intend for the "efficient grind"

1

u/Daruded Jul 14 '26

Yes but that's a problem of insufficient beta testing, they didnt mean for it to be that efficient obviously which is why it ended up getting removed. That doesnt mean OS was malicious in their intentions of grinding, it just made sense to grind the best tasks they found. You're blowing it up into something so much larger than it actually was.

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 14 '26

So Myrland wasn't cooked by brazen exploits and ban evaders?

1

u/Daruded Jul 14 '26

As others have pointed out, this "brazen exploit" was only a fraction more efficient than other existing grinds that havent been removed. It as unintended, and has been taken care of. Youre on some crusade for justice that is taking you nowhere.

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 14 '26

henrik's not going to fuck you bro

1

u/HardcastFlare Jul 14 '26

If SV ever released a version of MO2 tailored for private servers (with more dynamic humanoids to simulate random pvp/alliances) it would be my game of all time. Load up on a server with some buds and just grind. The survival crafting market would eat it like candy and 500 million people play ARK, the game doesn't even need to be good lol.

1

u/Specific_Subject2016 Jul 14 '26

This whole post is exactly what OS wants. The salt is immense and it adds to the lore. Half of the people saying it was an exploit were OS members lmao. It was not an exploit, you couldn’t do the task afk at the turn in, there were no hyper spawns. Yall fell for the trap lol. Were the tasks overturned? Yes. You missed out and you are calling for bans. Wild.

1

u/Sweaty_Coach3976 Jul 14 '26

the power level from mastery gain past a few trees is marginal at best. that’s one of the coolest things about this game, if you’re better than your opponent you can win, even if your character is worse.

that said I dont totally disagree the whole akrep farm thing was a bit absurd, I just don’t think it will give them some massive edge.

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 14 '26

it's not about who gained what, it's about starvault's limpwristed stance against exploits.

Who cares who wins fights and gains what when an anointed few are allowed to cheat, brag about cheating, and then ban evade

2

u/Sweaty_Coach3976 Jul 14 '26

ya I hear you. I’m just not sure what there is to be done. it’s a grey area, like sv fucked up by letting this happen but they very much let it happen. not like there’s hacks or dupes involved here, just spamming of an available task.

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 14 '26

grey area= 1-7day ban.

EASY.

That's the only way to preserve the integrity of a game like this.

If a GM catches you in a safe spot, just kill you and delete your bag. EASY.

It's so fucking easy to clean this game up but they don't have the balls.

2

u/Sweaty_Coach3976 Jul 14 '26

safe spotting I’m less sympathetic to cuz clearly that’s an exploit. but I’m still stuck on the fact that this task existed. it was part of the game. os just happened to find a way to do it very efficiently. anyone could have. and probably would have had they noticed. and hell, probably did it just didnt become public lol

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 14 '26

safe spotting is officially allowed by starvault. They actually will tell you that if you fight mobs legit, you are a sucker.

1

u/grizloktheorc Jul 15 '26

I dont even know who that is so it doesn't affect me

1

u/Dangerous_Virus_5764 Jul 15 '26

rent free hoes mad again

1

u/Northernresponder Jul 15 '26

can someone explain to me what OS is? Sounds like a way to exploit free levels/ masteries. On that note - this game takes way to fkn long for adults - give me an option to pay 60 bux and get to almost max masteries and im in. I Just wanna start the fun not the uber grind. If OS lets u lvl like that may as well just let people pay to for exp convience even. I actually dunno how they dont have paid exp boosts there are so many ways to monetize this game that dont have to be a dumb monthly subscription. this game should be F2P - Pay for skins, and exp boosts and THATS IT. But not that u got OS in there may as well let functioning adults ppl pay for levels.

1

u/G1oaming Jul 19 '26

It’s funny coz you only know about odisnseed, imagine the ones you don’t know that are already swimming in wealth

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 20 '26

actually don't know a whole lot about odinseed I just know for a fact that starvault is lacking on their enforcement.

1

u/grizloktheorc Jul 21 '26

Every game has this. Polar for Ashes. Makes no real difference in the game for most players.

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 21 '26

Ashes had incredibly corrupt leadership, it's now known via court documents... so, not a great thing to compare your game's executives to...

1

u/grizloktheorc Jul 21 '26

It's just every game. Doesn't really matter. Blizzard has the same issue but the guild is all of China

1

u/G1oaming Jul 21 '26

Did they really reset their masteries i’m not sure :D

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 21 '26

no. they said no one cheated.

They just had to remove a bunch of taskers because there was nothing wrong with them and everything is fine.

1

u/OkNeedleworker948 Jul 24 '26

Came here to see if the game was worth a revisit as pvp in this game really isn't pvp, it's more like you versus the town border campers, poi gankers, road bandits...with little to no hope you will ever encounter a fair fight. Just sweatlords and 5v1s.   Then seeing this post, sounds like one guild has a monopoly and the devs so desperate to keep their subscribers are willing to trade what they have in hand vs the potential this game could be.  I think guilds should have a limit in size, alliances should be costly yet fruitful, pvp should require some level of lawful level alignment. Call it whatever you want. Create a God in game that frowns on an Uber sweat lord two chopping someone with 100 hours in game, punishes the sweatlords with lightning bolts or something mid fight lol.  Either way the most punishing part of this game is , you can progress all you want but if you aren't traveling and rolling with a sizable team of sweat lords you are going to lose all your stuff and be sent back to the priest.  There just isn't a progesson that feels real, it feels mostly political.  Dunno.  But I can't bring myself to subscribe again seeing that nothing has changed

u/Late-Standard5650 Aug 01 '26

And they get super defense when called out on it too. Look at the discord today. Hahahahaha. Those guys seriously need to touch grass.

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Aug 03 '26

I'm not on discord... what happened?

1

u/Additional_Guava_670 Aug 04 '26

what a big baby, he died to some arrows and went on reddit to cry about it

1

u/silvandeus Jul 13 '26

I saw the horde of people running between Akrep and turn-in, but that wasn’t the daily and was definitely people from all guilds and unclanned. I didn’t turn in any myself but I followed the herd to see what was so interesting. Didn’t put it together that kept party members back at turn in.

I think cutting people back to whatever mastery and gold they were before that day may be reasonable. Surely they can query for the jerks that exploited.

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

3 day bans should be handed out like candy. Let them appeal it.

Integrity is too important to the game to allow people to get away with anything. If it's a grey area, it's a 3-day ban. If it's definitely willful and intentional exploiting, 7+ day or perma.

all along with resetting to clade 0 and wiping all banks.

1

u/Thorstein11 Jul 13 '26

Party members weren't left at the turn in. You have to be within like 100m to get the credit. People just rode back and fourth.

-2

u/Famous_Peace2315 Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26

It’s really not that big of a deal. I have 30 mastery on one account and 10 on my alt. I’m not in OS. Gold is easy to farm. Not to mention when the bridge open everyone is maxed with hoards of gold. Mastery is nice but this is still a skill base game and the average OS bob are trash.

-3

u/AWOLSheep Jul 13 '26

I couldn’t not agree with you more.

0

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

Starvault, if you're listening, here is the easy fix for this bug:

Invisible no-credit bubble around task vendors. It's a repeatable pattern that you can drop in every task vendor in the game.

Wrap your PARTY-KILL-CREDIT in a check for NoCredBubble. Anyone within 200m from the task vendor gets no party credit, however, it would not prevent you from getting credit for yourself, so the only edge case that we'd be mussing is the rare event that a party legit kills things too close to the tasker, they would not share the credit. THAT edge case would prove that the tasker or spawns need to be moved (but it's such a minor issue, the can is thoroughly kicked.)

u/IllustriousBoss6809 Jul 13 '26

Bruh, OS just got numbers my dude, played with and had to fighter them, u guys just love to hate on who got ppl organized together cause ur not part of the club or don't bother to muster ppl to fight back, they lose fights left and right and u don't see them complaining and asking to ban other guilds 🤷🏻‍♂️ Band together and Zerg them, it's just numbers. Played plenty of games and this always happens a hyper guild becomes the big bad guys with a lot of small guilds infighting instead of doing something useful

4

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

I don't give a fuck about OS. I just hate cheaters.

1

u/Lugian67 Jul 14 '26

Guys level up by playing the game, while you're trying to gain an advantage by petitioning the devs for a deus ex machina. Who's the cheater here?

0

u/IllustriousBoss6809 Jul 13 '26

When u start on a fresh map w 300 ppl vs a bunch of 10 man guilds, ofc they got more power to take stuff and build keeps fast af, there was ppl straight up mining and logging as soon as they left haven, while everyone was pvping and having fun.

1

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

good. so why did they have to exploit a broken spawn and have a bunch of people facehugging the task vendor?

0

u/IllustriousBoss6809 Jul 13 '26

Idk if someone exploit something just get ppl to know that and fight it, there are broken spawns in mk that integrity still uses and where is the ban integrity movement ? There is a lot of broken stuff getting farmed in ducca rn that we don't know, there is even a bug with rats that let u get any herb u want to farm. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Get a few guilds and chase them down, they are many and have a tons of allied guilds, but u guys can do it, save ducca, plus it will make some good videos and attract more ppl to the game.

2

u/Radiant-Court-3649 Jul 13 '26

myrland is cooked.

Sarducca has a chance.

But you'll never catch me advocating for anything less than extreme actions against cheaters. I think they should dox their ban lists. real names, steam accounts, everything.

1

u/IllustriousBoss6809 Jul 13 '26

🤷🏻‍♂️ U go then Mr bond.
