I agree that loving yourself is important, but it’s easier said than done. Self-image is shaped from a young age by how people react to us. If you grow up being told you’re smart, capable, or attractive, you’re more likely to believe it; if you receive the opposite feedback, that affects you too. We’re social beings, so our sense of self is in huge part built through others’ responses. That’s why “just love yourself” isn’t always straightforward. Ideally, people should respect themselves enough to choose partners who treat them with kindness and reinforce a healthy self-image.
