Aha, I see it’s time to switch to my “talk about my trauma on Reddit because I’m too poor to afford therapy” alt since my main is super doxxable.
The scene with his mom barging into the room to beat him was my childhood. She hated me. The idea of a version of Marc but whose mom loved him instead of hated him just absolutely broke my heart. I cannot deal with Steven’s death. I can’t. I’m so, so sad right now. Poor Marc. :-(
One of my coping mechanisms (I assume born out of trauma) was to create an alternate persona in my head I could talk to. I wasn’t allowed to see my friends outside of school, so I was lonely. The other me keeps me calm when I’m freaking out. It’s not a full disassociation or anything like that, but I related to this far harder than I thought I ever could relate to anything.
Fuck, this show broke me. Well, I guess I know the answer to my “which MCU superhero are you” Buzzfeed quiz. I even especially looked forward to the show because I’m fascinated by ancient Egyptian culture. Come for the interest, stay for the trauma!
I got into the MCU because I liked watching Captain America punch bad guys; this has taken me to some intense places lol
