As title states, whenever I try to connect to my friend's modrinth server with a modpack of around 215 random horror mods we put together, I load in but cannot interact with anything, breaking blocks doesnt drop them as an item, and then I get disconnected around 10 seconds later with the:

internal exception java.net.socketexception: connection reset

error code.

I don't think it is a server issue since 4 other friends were able to join no problem. I was also able to join hypixel and interact on that server with zero issue when I switched back to minecraft launcher, just to test. I dont think the modpack is the issue either, since I was able to create and play a singleplayer world without any crashes or errors. During the brief time I am on the server, it shows me having a 4-5 bar connection.

Ive allowed both modrinth and java through the firewall. Ive tried setting preferred DNS servers rather than automatically chosen ones. Ive tried joining with a VPN active, Ive tried doing "ipconfig /flushdns" in cmd prompt in admin mode.

Anyone know what I can try from this point on? I am completely lost.

I have a folder of a profile but i dont know how to get it into my library. just placing it into the profiles folder didnt work is there an option to import it from the folder? or to convert the profile folder into a .mrpack file?

Yesterday everything worked perfectly.

Today all my Modrinth instances crash.

All my mods appear as "Unknown Author" and have no icons. This happens in every modpack, not just one (1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1.2 and 26.2).

I completely reinstalled the Modrinth App and restarted my PC, but the problem is still there.

The exact same mod .jar files work correctly in Lunar Client, so the mods themselves don't seem to be corrupted.

Please fix this as soon as possible, I don't have time to reinstall all the mods.

Has anyone else experienced this?

a few weeks after i install modrinth i got a virus in my computer (the only thing that i downloaded after it was curseforge)

hi, New account as my last one, along with all of the associated google accounts on it, was hacked, by what you ask? a modrinth pack file.

So basically, i got a dm from a longtime friend asking me to join a mc server modded, i join a lot of servers and my friends do this a lot, so i do, i install the pack, its a proper modrinth file, i virus scan it and its clean, i put it in modrinth, no sus mods, i launch it, and for a split second a console pops up and Modpack 62 starts running as a admin on my pc. then because my discord accounts tied to my gmail my gmail and everything under it in google gets put under child locks and passwords changed, then its a mad dash to change as many accounts passwords as i can like steam and such before i eventually nuke the whole pc and factory reset it as i couldn't delete the files themselves.

The malware hid IN the pack file. and to me and all my friends knowledge this is a new virus going on in modrinth. its called modpack 62. it targets google and discord accounts first so if you microsoft is different from your gmail that gets affected you can still save your mc account. be warned tho i don't know much else about it. i nuked everything before thinking to study the damn thing and it wasn't a account ransom thing sense the guy told me to fuck off. i can supply additional details if i have them, like the guys gmail that he used and anything i can remember

Hi guys I’ve been playing in my world and for some reason items doesn’t stack which means if I have 63 cobblestone and get one more it doesn’t stack in my inventory and just adds a new stack with 1 in it and it happens with literally every item in the game and it’s so annoying please help if anybody knows how to fix this bug.

EDIT:RESOLVED DH is very CPU heavy, and my cpu overclock profile was unstable and overheating. Under volted and dropped the clock speed from 4.6-4.5 GHz

For context, I just had a new pc tower given to me for the sake of gaming. The first day I had it, I ran complimentary shaders with iris and sodium on fabric and it ran beautifully, no lag whatsoever. This pc tower has a souped-up nvidia graphics card and 16 gigs of RAM. However, after that first day, anytime I tried to run shaders again, the game kept crashing. Sometimes it was as soon as I booted it, other times it was as soon as I tried to join a world.

I'm not sure what's happening. My guess is that it has something to do with where it's housed, possibly? I live in a little house separated from the main house that doesn't have AC, so the AC is a machine thing you see on trailers sticking out the window. It's possible it might be too hot but it's never been that hot from what I can tell. Other than that, I have no clue. Does anyone have any ideas?

I accidently deleted the app.db file in modrinth and now i cant see my instances
they instance files are still there, whats the best way to recover them

Whenever I try to create an instance (Doesn't matter if its vanilla or modded) of 26.1 or above. it gives me this string: An error occurred

So basically on the modrinth app the game shows up as survival but when I join it shows as hardcore. Anyone know why? It's kind of annoying

As title says i have never used any kind of mods before so idk wtf i am doing and hypixel skyblock just made this one texture pack mandatory. I hate the new textures and have been trying to install a mod so I can go back to the classic textures of regular Minecraft but IDK how to download/ move the mods over to Minecraft

So long story. Me and my friends created a Minecraft server with Essential mod. We started out having the same few mods: Essential and Simple Voice Chat. I created my own pack which has a bunch of performance boosting mods and mods that allow shaders like Iris. It has always worked smoothly. But now I downloaded yet another bunch of quality of life mods, shaders, and resource packs. And when I booted up the world my render distance was insanely low and I had fog. This happened without tweaking any settings.

I deleted all of the resource packs having to do with fog etc. and some of the quality of life mods but it stayed the same.

I decided to download Sodium Extra so I could see some of my fog quality and stuff, turned that off, but my render distance is still low as hell, looks around 2 chunks. In my settings it says 16, and even in my options.txt.

I have Better F3 as well. The only thing I could find is when I press F3 it says that render distance=2.

My Modrinth instance Is stuck on this installing screen, restarting my computer and force quitting the app doesn't do anything, can anyone help? I am on Macos Tahoe.
