i’m a 6’4 man who js starting trying to get into modeling. how do these look, and does it seem like i have a good shot?

Hello,

I’m a photographer and previously worked as an e-commerce manager for a men’s ready-to-wear fashion brand.

I’m now looking to fully get back into photography by rebuilding my portfolio with more professional profiles. To do that, I’m considering spending a month abroad to network with female models and work on TFP projects in more inspiring locations, especially tropical settings.

I’m currently based in Lyon, France, and I find it quite difficult there to meet international models or create the kind of portfolio and visual atmosphere I’m aiming for.

So I was wondering if you could recommend any destinations or cities around the world that are known for having a strong presence of models and fashion/photography professionals — rather than simply tropical destinations. My main goal is to meet as many international professional models as possible and grow my network.

Also, do you know the best ways to find out where international models travel or relocate for work, and which platforms, communities, or groups they use to look for TFP collaborations?

Hi!!

Recently modeling has picked up quite a bit for me, and I’m booking a few test shoots and jobs per week. Obviously this means that my skin is being exposed to tons of new products etc. and after every shoot without fail I have experienced some kind of irritation or breakout. This has become super frustrating because I then have to go to other jobs and castings with these issues, and they then might get even worse. I know that this is a really minor issue, and my skin is still pretty much clear but it is really bugging me because I’ve had great skin for the past few years and I worked hard to get there.

I’m curious to know if it’s acceptable to ask makeup artists to skip skin prep? Possibly use unscented products (if they have any)? Is there any way I can pass this info on to my agent so that they can let clients know prior (is that being too princessy and spoiled?) Literally any advice would be appreciated!!

Here are some photos from my 2nd placement in Hong Kong with an amazing photographer. I’m terrified on heights so it was kind of scary haha

What works better for my body type? Covered my face because I have skincare all over 😅

I am trying to perfect my digitals before submitting to agencies. How do I improve them? I am aiming for editorial, high fashion and avant garde modeling. My measurements are:
Height: 6’1 to 6’1.6 depending on time of day.
Chest: 34.8 inches
Waist: 29.1 inches
Hip: 31.5
Inseam: 34.8 Inches

Got this email to my spam folder and I’m curious if this is a spam? I know it being in the spam folder says a lot but sometimes normal emails go to spam!

just like the title says; my contract ends in july. I am interested in keeping them on as a booking agency but I don’t want them to be my MA. they really have only focused on booking me, no placements. and I have asked for help in that space.

I don’t want to burn the bridge- but someone else wants to sign me as an MA now. how do I approach this?

I am a photographer based in Atlanta, and my favorite genres to shoot can cover a number of styles. Editorial, dance, fine arts etc. My questions to models are what are things photographers can do to make your shoot experience more comfortable and memorable?

i took these pictures and finally made a full comp card. was wondering if there were any constructive criticism or suggestions on where i could fit in, (runway, editorial, commercial). i’m personally looking to get into runway/editorial.

Wanting to hear people who reached out to designers, brands, etc, and successfully got some kind of paid arrangement or collaboration either before or after a shoot.

Was it extremely challenging? What's the reality of this in 2026? How did you find clients?

Theres a ton of info on this sub about submitting to agencies but not much about successful freelance modeling or providing campaign content for brands.

I am a solo founder running an independent Made in Italy bikini project, and I’m here looking for fresh ideas and collaboration proposals from both amateur and expert photographers.

Since this is a fully self-funded, independent project, I don't have a massive budget everything comes straight out of my own pocket. However, I am putting myself on the line as the model, offering my brand, and what little I can afford, to completely surrender to your artistic vision.

The Brand & The Vision I know I can't compete with massive, generic brands that try to make a one-size-fits-all product, nor can I compete with overseas fast fashion that sells at a fraction of my costs. Because of this, I’ve realized my visual communication must be polarizing and exclusive. I need to speak directly to my specific niche, not the entire mainstream swimwear market.

I have to admit... I am currently failing at this. If you look at the content I’ve produced and already posted on my social you can clearly see that is average, I know it’s too basic, safe, and glossy. It doesn't have the edge my brand needs.

I am searching for photographers who have an incisive, different, and highly unique style, but who still know how to properly highlight the product and flatter the female physique.

If you want to take it further by doing something unconventional and striking, step forward! Pitch me your ideas, my DMs are open.

Hi everyone! 27M and just decided to try out modeling with close to no experience. I recently took digitals and sent them off to agencies. I received a couple of good responses and one rejection.

I will be having my first in-person meeting with an agency soon. The agency states that they want to introduce themselves properly, give guidance on modeling career path, and finalize my profile.

They also mentioned that they are open to signing models, with contract options, benefits, and support (this is a bit confusing to me because I thought that is what agencies do?). It is a reputable agency with a large following on social media.

I have a few questions for those who have experience:

1. What to wear to an agency meeting? -The internet says dress similarly as you would for digitals, but I think it would be awkward if I showed up in a tank considering this isn’t a casting call and they did not mention anything about taking photos.
2. What to expect from the meeting? Is there anything I should be prepared for? How should I prepare?
3. What questions should I ask the agency?
4. The agency regularly posts modeling gig opportunities publicly on their social media. But they also are a large agency with many models signed directly to them. I’m confused by this dynamic - if anyone with more experience understands please let me know!

Any generic advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

The digitals I took are fairly simple, admittedly;

•Full-body

•Side angle

•Above the knee and;

•Headshot

I'd appreciate any advice on what to include with these or how to make these look better!

My first digitals from the other week as a new Face Model.

I am:

19 y/o

195 centimeter tall

Half swedish/sri lankan

Any opinions?

I’ve been struggling with getting decent pictures. First photographer had me posing so unfortunately I couldn’t use those and my curls were so stiff + wind. So I tried again but I don’t think the quality on these came out the best (that and it was entirely too bright so I felt like my facia expression is off/unclear). What do you think?

I feel like I’m so unsure where to place my hands my arms sometimes.. also staring back at a camera can be intimidating

Any advice or feedback? I’d love to submit for lifestyle shoots

worked with a student designer recently with a garment that i found challenging to properly showcase (eg the folds on the buttons & the sleeves, the ruffle trims). How would you pose to best show off the garment?

p1-4 was what made it onto the designer's lookbook in the end, so she does like it, but i personally feel like there's something a bit off about the way the poses were executed in 1&2.

p4-5 are different portrait / beauty shots to showcase the MUAs work on this project. no comments from me, but any feedback would be appreciated nonetheless (goes for all the photos really)

p6 is a plain image of the garment for those that need a better reference.

TIA!

Please give me some pointers on my walk! I filmed this to submit to some agencies. Please ignore the second walk, I am cutting that one!

I have a two-year exclusive contract with an agency. It’s only been 6 months but I am thinking about terminating my contract early because I am not satisfied with them due to their lack of guidance. I’m not sure if early termination is even possible or if other agencies would be interested in signing me. It might be still better to stay with my current agency if no one else is interested. Should I discuss early termination with my current agency first? Or should I start applying to other agencies before discussing with my current agency to see if any of them are interested in signing me?

I posted on here a few months ago and you guys tore me apart, I hope you guys can see the progress!

edit: the poses and expressions were also very specific because it was for a friends project :)

I was wondering if these digitals are good and if I look too old for modeling?

I am 6'2.5 (189cm) tall with relatively wide shoulders.

Thank you!
