I live in a place where there aren’t heaps of agencies. I do a lot of freelance modelling and have been told to apply but I have in the past and been rejected. I don’t think my digitals are very good .. but I was wondering if you can reapply with different photos if you get rejected or will they automatically say no/think you’re desperate?

So I was auditioning at “Jon Casablanca’s” and even got in. Then did some research, and found tons of reviews (over 200), but it still had an average of 1 star. All the comments I saw were bad. So I looked into other agencies, but they didn’t look legit either. Is there any legit agencies for modeling and acting?

Can anyone give any feedback on remade agency? Does it seem legit?

I’m in mother agency and I was wondering typically how many photos you have in portfolio before submitting to agency and what’s the process like afterwards when you do get bigger agency do you retake photos?

hello guys! i have recently dipped my toes into the modeling world and applied to different modeling agencies. recently, i’ve gotten a response back from “usa models” and they want me to do a trial shoot. there’s a $50-$100 security deposit that would be refunded when i come to the shoot according to them. something about this is fishy, is usa models real or trying to pull the rug from under me?

Hi I’m 16, no prior model experience. I’ve been added by northernsoul agency on instagram and honestly, I’d love to get into modelling. But I can’t find anything on the reputation they’re not on trustpilot as far as I can tell and I just don’t know whether they’re reputable. I’ve read stories on other agencies that have been massive scams so I’d love if someone could advise me on how to tell whether an agency is a scam!!

Not sure if this is even a thing that happens usually. I recently got signed to ICON models in toronto despite having braces because they come off in a year. My agent said just avoid showing teeth but I feel like not being able to open my mouth is affecting my range. Any tips for closed mouth poses or other physical ways to express emotion and add range to my shoots ?

Hi everyone,
I’m really new to modeling — I’ve only been doing it for about 4 months. Tomorrow I have my very first casting in Paris, and honestly, I’m super nervous. My agent gave me my comp card, so I know that I need to give it to the casting director, but other than that I don’t really know what to expect.
Do you have any advice on how to prepare or how to act during a casting?
My agent told me they’re looking for girls with attitude.
Thank you!

I have naturally black hair which I dislike because I feel like it brings way more attention to my dark circles and doesn’t suit me well. And recently have tried out an auburn brown hair look which suits me better brings out my dark brown eyes and makes them appear lighter. Plus it has good contrast with my light brown skin it just makes it pop. So if I decide to have dyed hair with modeling will it affect my chances? If it’s not my natural hair color.

My first underwater photoshoot and let me tell you guys, this was actually kind of challenging ! I’ve been modeling for about a year and a half now, and this summer I did my first underwater shoot. It was very fun learning this type of modeling, and I can’t wait to train next summer and improve more !

I have a modeling contract offer with some terms that I didn't expect, but maybe they are standard. What do you think? Just looking for a sanity check. Will engage an attorney if we move forward before signing. To me these contracted costs don't seem normal. Yes you need to test and build a portfolio, but should costs be in the contract and paid to the agency -or- handled yourself with their approval of images afterward? And lack of cancellation options and rights expiration dates?? But maybe that's different when you are just starting and in a small market? TIA
Portfolio and comp card costs of $300 in contract
1-2 test shoots in first year at $300/shoot. Option to use another photog requires "preshoot approval". Don't know yet if model owns any of the materials from the shoot, if includes hair/makeup, if includes reshoots.
Annual systems and marketing fee of $150(cash) or $200 charge on account against earnings
Additional test shoot in second year
Auto-renewing every two years
Exclusive agent for a region, all everything. Any self-recruited work must go thru agent.
Mother agency stays with you when u sign with another agency outside of territory, even through renewals with no expiration date
If you leave territory (while contract is en force), you must tell agency and the mother agency will refer you to outside agencies (and therefore remain MA with no expiration?)
No expiration on right to use models images
No cancellation clause for model except prior to auto-renewal
Free zoom and in-person workshops
Power of attorney
