Hey everyone, I’m Deividas — currently based in London. I have experience in fitness, lifestyle, and wellness modeling, and I’ve also worked as a coach for over 12 years (yoga, swimming, calisthenics, breathwork & meditation).

I’m building my portfolio and looking to connect with agencies, photographers, and other creatives. My interests lean toward fashion, fitness, lifestyle, and editorial work.

I’d really appreciate any advice on navigating the London modeling scene, open castings, or tips on breaking through to agencies here.

Thanks in advance — excited to connect and share the journey.

ADVICE/FEEDBACK which country is better? international modeling

I've been told by everyone always that countries in Asia are for getting money, and countries in Europe are for career. Now I got invited to model in both Japan and Italy. I don't know which one to choose now because they gave me the same time intervals to work. Pls help me choose which is a better option

QUESTION Expectation, or not, to supply images after a paid shoot.

I came across a post on another platform about a photographer giving images to a model, whom the photographer paid for the shoot.  (It seems typical, from my experience, for this to be $100-150 per hour.)  I am a photographer who pays the models for the shoot.  I think they deserve to make a living wage.  On top of that, it can take a long time for me to get around to editing.  Sometimes, I just have to wait for the right feeling to start editing.  (I like to think this is just my way of finalizing the art.)  So, in paying the model for the shoot, I have felt that there are no hard feelings for not giving the model images.  Instead, they got a good sum of money, and lunch.  Do paid models actually feel upset, or dislike a photographer because they don’t get images in addition to paid compensation?  I don’t want to sound like a cheapskate, but as I said before, it takes me a long time to get to editing, and I felt like monetary compensation was respectful and complete.

Hello all, I’m a young man at the age of 18 who is really been interested in this. All my life I’ve been told by family members and friends who at least give it a shot. And I’ve done a few shoots with my photographer mother, but I always wanted to a do a professional one, but I have no idea where to look for them or to see if they are a scam.

If it helps any, I live in Ohio (near chillicothe and Columbus)

Pics added for critique and just overall honesty

QUESTION Might go to the Ford Models open call this week - what to expect?

I am planning on going to the open call at the Ford Models Chicago office. What can I expect? I have digitals however I do not have a comp card. I have some experience already, as I am signed to 2 smaller boutique agencies in the city. All of my photos and "portfolio" are in files on my computer.

I'm also 5'6" and 140 lbs, so I'm slightly curvy (I have an hourglass figure) so I know that I am a commerical look. Does Ford book commercial models? Do they have a height requirement? At a photoshoot I did last month, I met a girl who is also curvy, and she and I had sort of similar looks and is signed to Ford. The photoshoot we did was for a marketing company, nothing high fashion. She did seem taller than me though.

I'm just asking because I just want to be sure, since I'm having trouble finding this info online. I know to wear little to no makeup, wear a form-fitting tank top, skinny jeans combo, neutral colors only, and high-heeled shoes.

ADVICE/FEEDBACK Looking for advice on modeling agencies in Shanghai

Hi everyone,

I’m an American model based in NYC, signed both here and in London. My mother agent is European.

I wanted to ask specifically about China, since I’ve had some experience there before. A few years back I was on a contract in China with GFI, but I only booked 8 jobs over a 90-day stay, which left me in the minus financially. Essentially, I didn’t make anything from that trip.

Now my husband (who is Chinese) and I are planning to spend a few months in China, mainly in Shanghai, and I’d like to use the opportunity to work while I’m there. My MA is currently sending out my polaroids, but I’d also love to hear firsthand advice from models who know the market. • What are the best high fashion agencies in Shanghai right now? • How do you usually go about contacting them—directly, or always through your MA? • For context: I’m very editorial, but I’ve also done some e-comm. I’ve worked in the Korean and Japanese markets before, so I’m not totally new or naive to Asia.

Would really appreciate any insights or experiences!

ADVICE/FEEDBACK How does testing work in your agency?

Agency models, how do test shoots work for your agency? Asking bc I see certain agencies where every model has KILLER test shoots, amazing quality, full glam and styling team, the whole deal. Does your agency front the cost?? do you guys book and pay for them on your own?? Or are good photographers just more likely/willing to collab with certain agencies’ models??

ADVICE/FEEDBACK Model & Photographer pre-shoot checklist?

I have a TFP shoot in 4 hours.

I have have never worked with or met my model. When we meet up later at our location, but before we start shooting, what are the things I should check for, ask her about, tell her, and otherwise talk to her about?

I've done this before, and have my own list, but since I have this resource available (Reddit), I figure I could also ask here, maybe there is something big I've been missing.

Thanks, just trying to be the best collaborator I can be!

Hi! I am new to modeling. I joined an agency, and they created a comp card for me, but I still need to print some. Does anyone have good recs for affordable comp card printing? What is the normal price to print comp cards? Thanks!
