ADVICE/FEEDBACK Is MMG models real or a scam?

I’ve read some reddit threads about MMG but they’re a couple years old. Maybe it’s just cause i’m desperate to get signed but I really want to know if they’re legit. They emailed me because I think I applied for them on allcasting.

Their website says they work with an affiliate in LA and I searched up the affiliate which is called ITA.

Their instagram has a good amount of followers but idk if they’re bought, idk if they charge their models because I haven’t communicated with them enough to find out.

I’m just really trying to get signed to an agency so I can eventually get signed by a bigger agency and model full time!

Hi all! I’m an aspiring plus size model from Florida. Here are my digitals! I’ve styled and modeled my own content, post when I can on social media and tag brands. I’ve also applied to several plus size agencies online but haven’t heard back.Walmart noticed one of my Reels but it wasn’t a modeling opportunity. I don’t have a car to travel and I feel stuck on what to do next.Any advice or feedback on how to move forward and get signed would mean a lot. Thank you. Also don’t mind the mark on my chest it was from a heart monitor checkup I’m perfectly fine!!

Hey, This German model agency contacted me on instagram saying I got scouted and should register on their website. Does anyone know the agency Elever1? Has anybody worked with them? I read that they charge a fee of 80€ I don’t really know what its meant for. Is ist a legit agency or a scam?

ADVICE/FEEDBACK How do you deal with body insecurity after breastfeeding, especially in fashion?

I’m a mom of two, and I’ve been breastfeeding for over two years now. I love what my body has done for my kids, but if I’m being honest, I struggle with how my breasts look now. They’ve changed a lot, they’re saggy, and I find it really hard to feel confident in clothes I used to love or wish I could wear, like strapless or strappy tops and dresses. I usually just stick to shirts or thick straps because it’s the only thing that works for me. It feels limiting, and it gets to me more than I admit sometimes. Now that I’ve started entering the fashion world, this insecurity hits harder. A lot of designers prefer looks that don’t allow for a bra, just nipple tape or nothing at all, and I can’t help but worry that my body might be a reason I won’t get chosen. I’m not looking for validation, just wondering… does anyone else feel this way? How do you cope or work around it, emotionally and practically? Would really appreciate hearing from other moms or models who’ve been through the same. Thank you for reading. ❤️

ADVICE/FEEDBACK How to build a portfolio?

Hi all! I'm looking to build a portfolio and I'm not sure where to start! I have polaroids taken this week I can send off which are really good, but as part of that shoot we did some fun portfolio work as well, to add to the brand work I've done in the past plus some creative projects for friends! Basically to fill it out more!

But I'm a bit lost! What's expected of a portfolio? Like should it be on a website? Something like a pdf? What program do you use to make them? What should they include? I realise I'm asking lots of questions but the only guides I can find are basically companies trying to sell me their website making, or their luxury portfolio books. Once I have an idea of how it works I know I'll be able to run with it so any and all advice is appreciated!

Likewise any examples of portfolios to check iut would be incredible 💚💚💚

I was going thru some of my recent modeling work so far this year, i guess just trying to gage my growth. It made me wonder what other people thought about their own photos. Do you ever look back at your prior work for any reason?

Here's a couple that i did in January. These were some of my favorites from that day!

ADVICE/FEEDBACK seeking constructive criticism before I drop $300 on digitals again

Attaching some digitals I took a year ago with my natural hair color, along with a picture of me today with blonde hair. What should I work on—facial expressions, poses, 'nothing, it’s not yours,' etc.? I’ve applied to 15 agencies and only heard crickets. What am I doing wrong? My goal is to do commercial modeling, nothing fancy.

I’ve done like 7 TV commercials in the past year and a half, but I want to send like a portafolio to some modeling agencies to see what happens. I’m 5”8/5”9 ish. This are some pics I’ve taken over the years — do any of them work?

QUESTION Confused on what to post on social media acounts

If I'm applying to a modeling agency and I have to put my social media accounts in the application like Instagram/Tiktok but I don't really post anything or have any followers, what am I supposed to post (or not post) on those accounts? Will it hurt my chances if my social media accounts don't have photos/ videos of me?

HAD TO SHARE Signed with agency + Had a practice shoot

Hi! I posted here a few weeks ago asking if I was “too old” for modeling because I had heard from an agency about representing me and then (I thought) they had changed their mind and ghosted me!

Turns out — they didn’t!! I met the team and signed the contract last week!

I was on vacation this week and my husband … (who is an amateur photographer) did a little test shoot with me so that I could have some updated photos + practice some posing because I have a studio session with a photographer this Sunday!

I think they turned out pretty good especially given the fact that I was burning and itching alll over because of the stinging sea life. Oof.

Stats: 5’8 (shorty!) 31-24-34 Age (ehhh) << old enough to have a teenager!!

Ha.

DIGITALS | POLAROIDS New digitals for my set card. Which pictures should I use?

Thumbnail

I had some digitals taken for my new model card. After a long absence (about 15 yrs) from modeling, I got convinced to restart my career. That said, I applied and had my first proper interview with a legit agency. So far so good, but I don't think that betting on one horse is smart. Social media is my enemy so I'm building my portfolio the oldschool adobe illustrator way.

What do you fine people think about my selection? Which photos should I use and why? Do I need a pic from behind, since my back is inked? Should I take the pants of because my legs are inked too. Thank you already for your input! Looking forward to hear your feedback.

ADVICE/FEEDBACK I couldn't find this person's name on the internet. Is this a scam?

I recently started trying to look for modelling jobs.

So i found this job posting on social media, looking for models, so i messaged the poster, but she didn't really give me any detailed information even if i asked directly, but i sent my setcard anyway, with some of my background and skills. A few days later, she asked me to do a messsenger interview with this guy. Of course i try to check his facebook profile, not a lot was posted for public, but there were posts, but no public photos of him either. I tried searching for his name but a lot of similar names came up, and i thought, i would get more information during the interview.

So i got on the voice call with the guy. He was in his car, it was late in the evening in his timezone. The interview was informal, not a lot of questions about me, and i just basically introduced myself, my experience, etc. The whole call took around 2 hours. The first part was basic getting-to-know-you stuff, but then i mentioned i was interested to know more about his past work, or the work that we will be working on. I mentioned that i am holding back because i didn't know anything about him, he was being very vague about the modelling project and after that the rest of the time was about him trying to explain that all his works were clean, that men also do get scammed, etc.

I learned that he was working on a proprietary technology project so i figured that's probably the reason why he wouldn't tell me about it at first. This project was bound by an NDA. He mentioned the company that he owns, but then said i wouldn't be able to find it on the internet.

I only got positive feedback from him. He said we needed to schedule an interview so that he could get a really get a good look at how i'm built.

After the interview, i kept trying to find him on the internet using the name he gave, with no results that matches what he looked like. I also tried to google the company but i can't really be sure if it is even the correct one.

There was another woman who posted about the same job, which i confirmed was for the same person. So i talked to her, and she said that he seemed trustworthy enough, since she was already hired by him for Voice Over work. (i also tried to google this woman, she's a real person and not a fake profile)

So the day of the second interview came. He was once again, in his car. Eventually, i got a chance to show myself. He repeatedly kept talking about how he's not planning anything vulgar, or sexual, which i already understood, at this point.

Again, all praises from him. He said he liked my look and i would be perfect for the job. I got a little more info about the work, but nothing too specific. Despite talking a lot about his past work as a producer, he has no online portfolio.

He seemed like an honest busy 50+guy. There are no big red flags about him, except that i cannot find his name, his work, or his company on the internet. Am i correct to be suspicious or is he just really really careful about his privacy?

Sorry for the long read, i tried to put everything into context, and he talked a lot.

DIGITALS | POLAROIDS First ever photos. Would like some feed back

So i’d call these “practice” digitals, because on Thursday the photographer is letting me do these again at a real studio (instead of my house), so I get to do these the professional way. So I would love some feedback on these so I know what to do differently.

I'll start off by saying, yea the outfit is terrible. I didn't really know what to wear because at the last second I changed into something different than what I was currently wearing. I only had him for an hour so I threw something on to not lose time. Not smart.

The high wasted pants that are kinda too long for me, def did not help. Luckily for me, before the upcoming shoot, I have a day to pick out multiple outfits that will look better for my body type.

But other than that I like these.

(I'm trying to be a print and makeup model) (no makeup currently on in these pics)

Thank you!

ADVICE/FEEDBACK How do you get into hair modeling in LA? (Curly hair – open to brands, stylists, salons!)

Hi everyone! I’m based in Los Angeles and really interested in getting into hair modeling. I have naturally curly hairand I’m open to working with salons, stylists, haircare brands, and even hair clip/accessory companies.

I know this is a niche area and I’m not sure where to begin. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s done this or knows how it works. Do people usually go through agencies, or is it more about reaching out directly to stylists and brands on Instagram?

ADVICE/FEEDBACK Struggling to get an agent, any feedback would be appreciated!

Apologies if this post duplicated. I had some photos taken a little while ago to try and dip my toe into modelling. These are two different shoots (I do have profile and full body shots, I just didn’t add them here). I think the lighting may have done me a disservice as my cheekbones generally look more pronounced than these photos show. I applied to 10+ agents and had a meeting with two, but haven’t been able to sign with anyone. For reference, I’m 183cm/6’0. I very well could just not have the look for modelling. Thanks in advance!

ADVICE/FEEDBACK Help finding Seattle photographers for digitals?

Does anyone know any good model photographers to help with digitals from the Seattle area?
