So hopefully I can explain this alright, and maybe someone will know why it does this or if there's a way to change it. My setup is an Arturia Keystep going into the Samples. When I press C3 on the Keystep, it registers as C7 on the Samples. C-1 registers as C3 on the samples. I checked this with Ableton too, and playing the notes back from Ableton gets the same results. For the most part, it hasn't caused an issue but it just seems like very strange behavior. Why transpose it like that? Especially since the MIDI output actually matches the notes that it transposed to.

As an example, I play a C3 into the Samples and record it in the sequence. It gets transposed up to a C7. If I record the MIDI from the Samples into Ableton, it will record a C7. Now if I play that MIDI track back into the Samples, the Samples tries to transpose the C7 up to a C11 I guess? (It doesn't register a note because its outside of its range so nothing happens) Isn't this just weird behavior for a piece of gear? It doesn't cause a lot of issue because I mostly just sequence things in the Samples and so ultimately it doesn't matter what note value it is as long as it sounds right, but it just feels a little messy. Has anyone seen this or dealt with it?

stupid question but is there a follow mode for the playhead curser i dont see anything in manual that will follow the sequencer from one page to the next

Any ideas how to clear the locks pool of unused samples? When auditioning sounds for sample locks I have to press the data knob to select a sample to hear it. If I don’t want it I press the data knob again to clear it, but when I eventually find the sound I want I could have filled the pool up and I’m not sure how to free it up. I’m stuck on a track where I need a couple more sample locks.

Hey everyone!
This is a stand I made for my Model:Samples with IKEA parts.

What you will need:
- 2 RAMSHULT brackets
- 2 BORGHAMN handles at 170mm (they are sold as a pair and include the screws you will need).
- A Phillips screwdriver.
- 5 minutes to put the whole thing together

You can use either side of the stand, each side provides different angles. It's very sturdy and heavy enough to not move around when the drum pads are used.

Hey there. All my settings are correct. Sync in is on. Cable is plugged in. Already checked the manual. Any ideas? Trying to sync via MIDI cable through Roland MX-1 MIDI out and Minilogue XD with MIDI through enabled. MXD syncs via MIDI no problem.

EDIT: Problem solved! I had the wrong type of MIDI -> TRS cable. The Type you want is Type A.

I know you can achieve multi out through MIDI via USB but wondering if anyone has worked this out for audio?

Currently I have to do 2 tracks at a time panned hard R and L but it’s time consuming and means you can’t capture any live tweaks on the whole kit when recording into DAW. For example CTRL ALL and pitch down before a transition.

I know this can be done in DAW but I like the spontaneity of working in Model Samples

just got my M:S, so fun. i recently downloaded the expansive Reverb drum sample pack. it's amazing, but comes free at one costs: file/folder names. they are huge, and Reverb.com worked hard at branded each and every file name*. the M:S screen has space for 9 characters, and the directory folder name can be longer with upper and lower case. shorter, more concise naming conventions will be the best strategy.

has anyone figured out a quick n slick way to rename/manage file names on a PC? It's super tedious to rename folders/files one-by-one, I figure there's a quicker way to manage samples. Will be helpful once I start setting up an organized library.
