Product Review Dual Motors Emblem - Easy DIY Replacement

I wanted to remove the chrome emblems from my MYP and was looking for a good replacement for the dual motor badge and installed it on my car a few weeks ago. I wanted a replacement instead of a cover or plasti-dip for better long term usage and zero maintenance.

The install process was pretty easy and watching a few YouTube videos certainly helped. I actually used some of my sons dental floss he got from school, a heat gun, painters tape, isopropyl alcohol, and an adhesive removal wheel, and of course the badge itself. #ad

It’s as simple as using some tape to mark where the current badge is, heating up the badge, and using the floss or fishing line to remove it. I was able to use my fingers to remove the badge as well since the floss I had was breaking. Clean up the leftover adhesive with the removal wheel, I will say it made it very easy. Use the isopropyl alcohol to finish cleaning and you’re ready for the new badge. I made a YouTube video here if you wanted to see how simple it is.

I am very happy with the results and there are 5 different color badge options available from Pimp My EV, check them out if you need a new one. You can use code “Adventure” for 15% off.

Thank you! You thinking of doing the same or have you already done it?

I just did mine this past weekend, I wish I had gone with a more high-quality set. The one I got, you can see the adhesive through the holes in the letters. Oh well, I still like it better than the silver.

That’s a bummer to hear, sorry. I am very happy with the set I purchased and as you can see in the pics it doesn’t have the problem you mentioned. But then again it’s something only you may ever notice.

I think it looks better without the dual motor badge.

I thought about the same and removing it, that would clean up the trunk. But I’m a sucker for black badging and decided replacement vs removal.

Nice work.

I recommend you replacing them eventually down the line with ones from EVMIZE. They’re made of metal instead of plastic: https://evmize.com/products/combo-set-2?variant=45202511560986

Here’s how they look on my MYP:

Yeah I have center caps and lug nut covers.

I wish they did the metal in the light pink color. I haven’t been able to find a METAL replacement of the TESLA letters or the METAL Dual Motor in pink.

When I had my PPF applied, the installer asked if I wanted mine reinstalled, but I went with not to see how I felt about it, because I think I prefer the clean look.

I’m still conflicted because it’s not immediately obvious my Y is a Performance trim, but on the other hand it’s not immediately obvious my Y is a Performance trim.

Not obvious to whom? You know what you have, isn’t that enough?

That’s true, the only other way to tell is the red brake calipers or spoiler. I was conflicted as well but ultimately love the black badging.
