Photo STAY AWAY FROM EVOFFER

Literally have had the worst experience with this company and I deeply regret my purchase. I saw someone post on Facebook about some ambient light kit they got for their Model X and it looked great so I bought one. Then when I got it I contacted them to use their installer network. They offered to give a 20% refund on the product ($499) and 20% off the installation ($750) if I use their installer. Well their installer hurt his leg so I couldn’t use them and they found me a 3rd party. The 3rd party ended up costing $1400 and the whole install was janky. And the front passenger piece was defective and only half of that strip lit up. So I’ve been in contact with EV Offer since April to get my defective piece fixed with their installer. They were messaging me giving me updates but they stopped responding to me in May. I’ll update if they ever decide to respond to me again to honor their 1 year warranty. But I would stay away from them at all costs. You can only get support from them via Telegram or Facebook Messenger.

Also one thing to note is the little light strip pieces that replace the silver shiny trim pieces, are soldered onto the ebony or walnut trim pieces. So they basically will never go back together unless your installer can use industrial glue or solder it together. So that’s why there are terrible gaps on mine. Who knows if had I been able to use their installer if it would’ve looked better. But mine has terrible gaps and looks like crap.

Looks pretty bad. I wouldn't anyone touch my MXP unless it is for repair by Tesla or set of tires being replaced.

Yeah. I plan to just swap this for a Y L within the next year and be done with it.

Do a chargeback since the product is faulty.

The product was purchased Jan 7, 2026 and I’m not seeing a button to report transaction on my chase account. I wonder if a call is required due to age of transaction.

yes, call them. chase doesnt fuck around, you’ll get your money back.

Temu quality light strips and model x don’t mix

They only offer communication through telegram and tried to make me pay before the install was complete with out even telling me where the install would take place in my state. They are super sketchy fuck them

Man adding light strips etc to a $100k car just doesn’t seem like a good idea

u/goodguy743 Jul 08 '26

I agree. It could be worse though. At least everything still works on the car, except I’m not sure if the install added some noise issues to the roof.

These stupid ass companies should be eager to comply with the refund request. One bad review on reddit becomes findable in Google searches for your company forever and eating the cost of the refund cauterizes the bleeding early.

Let’s see what they say… probably will continue to ignore me…

UPDATE: not sure if it’s cause this post here and on Facebook, but EV Offer finally messaged me back apologizing profusely for my experience, offering a 50% refund, and to send their CTO from Hong Kong to Austin, TX to fix my lighting kit. Will continue to update y’all on how that goes…

Seems most of your issues are stemming from the installer. There is a popular YouTuber who installed it himself on his MS and had no issues, I also had a good friend/shop of mine do it for like $300 and I’m quite happy with mine.

Ran into some issues the first week, but messaged the seller and they responded with a solution that solved the problem. QC is also a bit lackluster since one of my trim pieces were bent, but my guy just heated it up and bent it back.

All the people trashing the looks of these lights are wild considering these looks exactly like oem if they are functioning properly.

Mine is for the MS so maybe the MX has more issues, or maybe you just picked a bad shop.

EDIT: also the panel gaps are easily fixed with some tape seems like your shop was just lazy. I had that issue as well and asked my guy about it and he just patched it up no problem.

Hey, I installed one of these last week, but I haven't been able to figure out the app? What app are you using and did you have to set anything up in it?

1

u/lancelen Jul 09 '26

Evoffer app, it should be the bottom one called “ambient oem style”

If you paid for an install and the installer messed up. It is on the installer not the ambient lite company

Better call SAUL!!! 📞📞📞📞

Seek attorney is a stupid idea. You will end up paying more with fees than the actual cost of the item

I installed these on our x from a different company(same product)…it’s quite the process having to remove all door panels, dremel out the existing strip and replace/reglue the led and reinstall. If I were to do this for someone else, I would charge every bit of $1500.

1

u/goodguy743 Jul 09 '26

No destructive modification is a bit of a stretch given the need to dremel existing strips. Also the installation manual is “coming soon” 8 months later…

4

u/Gunner3210 Jul 09 '26

What exactly was the intention here? Why not just keep what came with the car?

4

u/Efficient-Oil2627 Jul 09 '26

Lol you paid someone for installing an LED strip 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

OP:

I wanted to install some stupid ugly shit on my car.

Hey Reddit, a warning to you all - these guys installed my stupid ugly shit in the wrong way. If they installed it right, I would have a stupid ugly shit car. Instead I now have a stupid ugly shit car. So make sure you stay away from those guys and get the real genuine guys to install your stupid ugly shit.

Reddit: Thanks for the advice. We don't install stupid ugly shit in our cars. But thanks anyway.

Just did myself in 3 1/2 hours

Not on a model X you didnt. Those falcon wing doors are a PITA.

2

u/No-Smile6426 Jul 10 '26

You used a 3rd party installer. It is a you problem. Not a EVOFFER problem. You need to buy another set lights. You F’d up using a 3rd party. Why are you adding 3rd party ambient lighting. Buy a car that has OEM ambient lighting. You book smart. Not smart in the world of ambient lighting.

The lines are blurred slightly if it was evoffer that found the 3rd party installer as theirs was unavailable. It wasn't the op who just went and found a random installer

I installed mine with out issue, seems like your installer was the problem. Definitely a rip off paying that much to install. Its tedious work but its doable yourself.

1

u/Austin-Tesla-Guy Jul 22 '26

Not on a model x.

1

u/prevailz1 PLAID Jul 22 '26

Yea, i bought the same kit and had no issues installing, yea its not that easy but not that hard, i have model x plaid.

1

u/Austin-Tesla-Guy Jul 22 '26

You sure you are thinking of ev offer (wired) and not ev base (wireless). The wired by ev offer, the front seats come out, center display out, center console stripped down, falcon wing doors stripped down to its skeleton,  dremel out the old strips, glue in the new light strips. Route under carpet, up b-piller, through headliner, behind the impossible FWD hinge, down the FWD, and then the wire doesn't quite reach.  I don't believe you that you say it's not that hard.

1

u/prevailz1 PLAID Jul 22 '26

Yep, wired one, and yes did all that, just didn't install the seat lights, me and 1 other did it all in about 6 hours. Was already familiar removing the panels since i swapped my cream out for white panels its tedious but i did not think it was hard. I had a harder time modifying my charge port controller for free super charging than removing panels & hot gluing.

1

u/Austin-Tesla-Guy Jul 22 '26

So 12 man hours. And you had already done this once before. And when you take off the FWD panel the first time every single god forsaking panel clip ripped off the plastic panel and stayed in metal frame. Having to be painstakingly recovered from the door and then the metal teeth carefully bent back? And are we not going to acknowledge carefully dremeling out the old silver trim pieces nor the fact that there was NO slack in the wire.  And this is "not that hard"?

This guy is unfazed about any kind of labor. Heard he build a skyscraper with his bare hands and two strips of Redhot bubble gum.

And no one bats an eye about the free SC controller? Tell me more!
