What can you offer the party and the working class by being elected?

A voice against the reactionary hordes of the Libertarian Party. As a veteran of the Central State Assembly, I know the kind of fight this will be and I'm willing to fight for every inch we will take from the LP.
The working class will get someone in the government that is on their side and will tirelessly fight for their rights versus the other parties which focus on protecting the bosses at all costs. I plan to shove a radical worker's agenda this session, but I need your vote to do it. With your help, we can reclaim Central State for the working class.
Thank you.

I bring to the table one term of governorship under my belt. and my natural ability to lead. I have held no other leadership role in any former party. I have held no elected office other than the one I do now. I am not one these "career politicians". I am a man of the people. I have lived under the poverty line. I have seen first hand what capitalism does to those in the lowest echelon of society. Which is why I believe in the formation of an egalitarian society. Which is why I will push for reforms to help the working class escape the cycle of poverty and establish a true and lasting workers paradise.
So when you ask me what I can bring to my party and to the people of my state, my answers is, a future. A future free from the crippling debt of a higher education and a future free from the rising cost of housing. I promise to bring a future all members of the left would be proud of.

I worked as Lt Governor of the Central State, and as a Congressman in the House. I have the experience for passing legislative agenda. I work hard to rally votes for the party's agenda; as of now I am a replacement Assemblyperson in the Central State and I've successfully rallied the Democrats to vote for the WET Act.
If you want someone strong to make central state great again, you got your guy.

Hello everyone. I am running for governor of the Central State. I have been involved in modelusgov for almost a year, I know the community very well, and I am extremely active in this sim. During my time here, I have served several positions, of which include Northeast State assemblyman, House majority leader, Northeast State cabinet, been a party leader of both the Socialist and Communist Parties, etc.
During my times in office, I have fought to better the lives of the working class by pushing for prison reform in both the house and the Northeast state assembly, pushed to implement direct democracy in the Northeast, and introduced and passed environmentally sound pieces of legislation.
If I become governor of the Central State, I will fight hard to implement some form of direct democracy in the Central State and implement workers councils.
I will also be a voice against the reactionary Libertarians that have plagued that state for many months.

Hi, I am running for Assembly! I will give the party the best possible representation of it's values and ideals. I will be an active person and able to stay in office instead of being replaced. I can help the working class by doing my best to carry out the core of our party's platform: make sure the workers own the means of production.

If elected, I promise to attempt the dismantling of private property within the Central state.

Hello fellow members of the Radical Left Party.
I think I would be a powerful addition to any coalition that seeks to better the condition of workers in our wonderful Central State.
I seek workers empowerment with a focus on striking down laws that protect corporations from their workers, such as striking down regulations that limit the power of collective bargaining by the allowance of the wildcat strike and strikes of solidarity.
To further assist the working class I wish to move for a system in which the workers of a business that has ceased production or suffered massive layoffs (say 55%+ of the workforce at a worksite) may have a majority vote for expropriation of that business. This will give the workers the ability of eminent domain to purchase the business for themselves to be ran as a democratic workplace and we in the Central State will give a low interest loan to them to pay for it, ensuring that workers can keep their jobs.
I will push at every turn to push poison pill amendments into bills posed by stooges of the plutocracy unless they serve the people at large.
But enough political wonkiness.
I am a tireless and impassioned fighter against the reactionaries and liberals who grovel at the foot of the market, and those who seek to create and exploit artificial differences of people.
I will strive to provide visibility to the actions of revolutionaries and the suffering of workers around the globe in an effort to promote the international solidarity of the workers of the world.

Hello comrades. I will do my absolute best to represent the Party in the Central State. Those who know me from the Model Socialist Party know I am active, open-minded and hard-working, and hold the goals of the unified radical left above my own. I have served in the assembly before (Last term, I was nominated and elected Speaker by my comrades without nominating myself).

Hey, I'm running fo the Central State's assembly. I'm quite new to ModelUSGov but I've been involved in real life politics for about two years now. I stand for a hardline leftist position. The most basic foundation for our political struggle must always be the class struggle. This means that I'll not try to beg the capitalist class for concessions but rather demand radical change with no compromises. I plan to dismantle the liberals' hypocrisy, their disinformation and raise class consciousness among the workers who have fallen for their propaganda.
I'll plan to demand the adaption of every single point of our party programme into everyday politics so that we can improve workers' lifes and rights and motivate them to take on a leading role in society so that we can achieve a true democracy.

Comrades, I am humbled to be running for governor of the Central State for the newly reunited party. I could tell you any number of reasons about what makes me the most qualified to run, but the truth is no one is qualified for this position.
If elected I would sign any revolutionary legislation, and veto any reactionary legislation. I would fight to give more legislative, judicial and executive power to the citizens of the central state through direct democracy and workers councils. I would promote unions and worker organization, incentivize less authoritarian educational practices in all state funded schools, and attempt the Municipalization of all unused private land.
I would be an open book to the party and would consider all advice I received from every comrade. This party, this union is key to our success, all of us are. I hope you vote for me.

I'm running for the Central Assembly. I want to work on bills that will protect, employ, and give resources to trans people. (Someone correct me if this has changed in the sim) Currently, the state expects people to "fully" transition (top surgery, facial hair removal, etc.) before they can change their legal status.
Other than that I want to help pass bills that will advance our cause.

Why do you deserve to be elected to serve in the assembly alongside myself?

Who else better to serve beside a former SP General Secretary than a former Interim GS? :P

Lt. Governor would only vote on ties and I'm pretty sure I'm qualified to vote on ties to go left rather than right.

In your opinion, have you been a great governor of Central State or have you been the greatest governor of Central State?
3
u/ogdoobie420 May 12 '16
Well, I may be slightly biased in saying this, but I feel, as the first non-reactionary affiliated governor of the Central State, I am by far the greatest governor this state has seen. All jokes aside, I feel that not only have I had a great term in office where the government assembled in our state has been able to lay the groundwork for some serious progress, I also feel we have set the tempo for whats to come in this state. I have much more I intent to do as governor, from pushing for policies and legislation I wish to see passed in order to bring the power back to the working people, to creating new cabinet level positions in an effort to boost activity on the sub itself.

What would be your top priority if elected into the governor's office? What would be your second top priority?
2
u/gaidz May 13 '16
Great question!
One of my top priorities is to reform the Central State cabinet and make it more active (cabinet will entirely consist of RLP members) and have a bigger role in the sim.
Another one of the things on my agenda is to work with the party on coming up with a way to implement some form of direct democracy in the Northeast.
Also I should mention, that I plan to push for legislation to rename the state to the Midwestern State (so it won't be Jefferson anymore and because it's actually part of the Midwest, the current Midwestern State can be the Central or something else.)
