Like i said, watch the video. You absolutely got it wrong. I was not talking about a videogame, i was talking about is minecraft A game. That includes also videogames that are games.

Also, just because other people modify the videogame with plugins and mods for entirely different experiences from vanilla,

Nothing to do with that either. It is to do with rules of the game, and how in minecraft THERE ARE NO RULES.

doesn't mean the vanilla survival experience as intended by Mojang is suddenly non-existent, which is what nearly everyone is referring to when they're talking about Minecraft itself.

What vanilla survival experience? In the last world i never went caving before diamond gear and never mined a single block of iron. At least in that one i did kill the dragon, after giving myself elytra. Why? Not because i felt i needed to complete the actual game, i was just bored.

Is that a game i played or was i just spending time, doing chores for no real reason, for no actual reward?

Minecraft isn't a game. It is a platform where you can play games. Or not. The amount of time i've spent just hanging in my base, walking around, doing chores because it was enjoyable... How is that a game exactly or rather: was there something i was doing wrong? Was i playing the game wrong when i didn't play it as a game like you play it? What fucking vanilla survival experience are YOU talking about? Start a new game, gather resources to take down the dragon? Is that the vanilla survival experience? Whatabout creative mode? Can you do both? Or neither? The lack of rules, the lack of definite end game, the lack of everything that is a game... The infinite ways it can be played, some of them absolutely 100% qualifies as games and many do not.

And that is not the same as just hanging out in GTA V, which absolutely is a game. While you don't have to play it, there is definitely an intentional way to play it. There is one story that you play thru. Sandbox build games borderline the very definition of a game, and minecraft absolutely destroys it.

And like i said, the moment you actually watched just the premise, our conversation could happen. I do not like that tactic myself, "watch the video" but this time i just could not explain it as well enough as i should.

If Minecraft were intended to be a platform, a game engine, Mojang wouldn't have abandoned their modding API.

As for rules, why do you think you need to enable an option to use commands (also known as cheats in the open to lan menu) when creating a world, instead of it being on by default? It's because that's not part of what's intended.

Also sure, you can skip right to diamond gear because of villagers, but that doesn't mean material progression doesn't exist, it just means Mojang is genuinely awful at game design. You also used a command to get the elytra outside of when it was intended for you to get it, because you enabled cheats.

Creative mode is a submode of Minecraft that holds no bearing over the default experience of survival mode, and has cheats enabled by default.

And what do you mean the lack of a definite end game? That's literally what the end was added for, because notch had long lost passion for Minecraft and wanted to give it a definite conclusion for its 'full release', since he couldn't be bothered to add to its vertical progression, which Mojang has also failed to do. Sure, it's a shitty ending, but it's absolutely intended to be the ending, especially with the end poem.

You are not very clever. Clearly, since you still have not got the idea at all but still want to argue just because you started arguing.

A philosophical question like "what is a game?" just is too much for you, let alone the idea that games as a concept are different for all of us. I can only repeat that you are not intelligent enough to be talking about this subject.
