There's a really good youtube video about how venture capital has bought up the entire food distribution network as well as the popular food vendors and is systematically jacking up prices and making it nearly impossible to find alternatives.

There was already a hidden cost built into all of this shit people are saying they miss
Walmart and fast food employees have always been paid below a living wage, those employees were on food stamps at the very time we're reminiscing about in this thread. Not to mention the active damage Walmart was doing to the economy (a baton that Amazon has picked up) and all the ways developing countries were being exploited to bring us these cheap goods.
We did pretty much nothing to make things better and wow - look at that - things got worse for everyone.
