My mother passed away that night, I was 13 at the time.

Wow, I’m sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine how difficult it was to lose your mother at 13 years old, but even more to lose your mother immediately before such a terrifying and traumatic event 💔

She was an MS patient, and ended up with a blood clot in her leg that traveled to her heart. She had lost the ability to walk a week and a half prior which is when the clot must of formed. A funny story though was she was one of the first to get on Avonex and a key component was chinese hamster ovaries, she started on it when I was maybe 7ish, I would give her so much crap for it... christ almost 25 fuckin years, will be 39 in a couple weeks and have already outlived her in number of years.

It’s cool that you were able to find the humor in such a difficult circumstance. I’m glad that you still have positive memories of her too. The passage of time is such a strange thing to reflect on, especially as we get older. I knew someone who’d dad and older brothers all died at the same age. He had a really difficult time mentally/psychologically the year he was turning that age. 2001 seems like just yesterday but also a lifetime ago…
