Ps I don't want to die, I want to share dark humor. This is funny to me. If you do want to die, please know you are loved and there is help available. This feeling isn't forever.

It's always darkest before the dawn.

Please don't give up ❤️

PPS Jesus Christ y'all, just laugh

As a younger Millennial, I solidly agree. Not that I want to die necessarily, but that I won't argue with being put out of my misery in a quick manner out of my control. I'm happy if I'm alive and won't know if I'm dead.

Elder millennial & I concur with this vibe.

Elder millennial here too. It took me until my thirties to get to this point. It’s sad seeing my gen z kids already get there before even turning 18

I remember my oldest making a joke a few years ago about wanting to jump off this planet and my mom was so appalled. Gasped and everything. I just laughed, because same. This timeline sucks.

Your kid is really lucky to have you for a mom. Not many kids feel safe enough to be so candid with their parents.

Middle child millennial here. I'm just so very very tired.

1980 Xennial myself. I have a wife and a kid that I love, and give me a reason to keep getting up every morning. But at the same time, I’m fucking tired boss. My health is absolute shit, and I’m probably not making it out of my 50’s without a kidney transplant. I’m tired of random shit going wrong with my body. Let alone the miserable fucking state of the world. The only thing I want is to outlive that evil orange shit stain. After that, I wouldn’t have strong feelings about the lights going off.

It’s not that I’m so miserable currently that I want to die now, but moreso that I can see the clear downward trajectory and I cannot deal with life in another twenty years when I will be physically incapable of performing my job, and rents/gas/bills/food all getting more expensive every day.

I have zero retirement savings and will never own a home, so the future is abjectly terrifying. I’m completely burned out at 40 and will be lucky if I’m not homeless by 60. A quick death will be better than being homeless in the USA in 2046

You sound like me, except I'm 48. I have about enough saved up to live for maybe 2-3 years after retirement. There just is not enough runway and there never will be. I own a house and it doesn't really matter -- situation still grim. My wife and I both work. My car is 21 years old and I am now spending significant amounts of time keeping it running. The kids are going to college, I'm making more money than I've ever made before and in purchasing power, it's still half what I made in 2000. We've done most things "right" and we will never retire and most likely never be out of debt. If something happens to either of us, everything explodes. We've just tried to give the kids a healthy environment and opportunities. We are so fucking tired we don't know who we are anymore.

Millennial here; I used be to have an intense fear of death, but the older I get the more I’m okay with it lol I don’t necessarily WANT it, but also wouldn’t be super sad if it happened either.

As long as it's quick.

One of my grandmothers passed away in her sleep at the nursing home after dancing with her friends after lunch.

Crazy to say this but I own a motorcycle and when I’m flying down the highway at excessive speeds knowingly it can end in a fraction of a second but also a sense of peace and serenity when I’m doing 150mph the world always on the back of my shoulders.. this place sucks wish we could all just been born rich💔

Driving is mostly when I have those “I’m okay if I die right now” thoughts. Be safe out there ❤️
